Mercedes EQE Reviews
Mercedes-Benz is continuing its sprint into the future with the launch of its all-new electric saloon car, the EQE – but is it all glitz and glamour without the oomph?
Up to 394 miles on a single charge, considerable power of 292 hp and a hyper-luxurious interior to rival all others - the all-electric Mercedes-Benz EQE saloon has plenty going for it as a tantalising lease vehicle.
The EQE sits alongside the more exclusive EQS Saloon in the Mercedes-Benz EV stable, and is a rival to the likes of the Tesla Model S and the entry-level Porsche Taycan.
With Mercedes-Benz boasting of ‘dynamism down to the last detail’, lease customers know they’ll be sitting behind the wheel of something special.

The power is supplied by a 90 kWh battery which provides a range of between 356 and 394 miles between charges, depending on conditions.
There’s enough oomph to accelerate the EQE from 0-62mph in 6.4 seconds while it’ll also hit a top speed of 130 mph.
Using 22kW AC charging, lease customers will be able to replenish the battery to 80 per cent in just 4.5 hours. Meanwhile the EQE also supports fast 170 kW DC rapid charging, which can enable an 80 per cent recharge in just 32 minutes.
The EQE also looks good from all angles, whether it’s the stainless steel flush-fitting door handles and black panel radiator grille on the exterior, or the high quality materials and active ambient lighting inside the cabin.
State-of-the sound insulation and an ultra-low vibration suspension systems should ensure you remain cosseted in a cockpit that also benefits from a High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filtration system.
There are four main trim levels to choose from with the EQE - the entry-level AMG Line through to AMG Line Premium, AMG Line Premium Plus and range-topping Exclusive Luxury.
Base AMG Line models come as standard with 19 inch alloys, a panoramic glass roof, heated leather sports seats, a 12.8 inch infotainment system, and the ‘parking package’ complete with a reversing camera.
Moving up through the grades, the ‘Exclusive Luxury’ level unlocks everything from larger 20 inch alloys, heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel, through to chrome flourishes on the exterior, an uprated sound system and augmented reality tech for navigation.
The Mercedes-Benz ‘Driving Assistance’ package comes as standard on all models from AMG Line Premium and above, and which includes Active Lane Keeping Assist and Active Distance Assist, which can even give you a helping hand with steering when required.
If you’re a business lease customer it’s also important to remember that because there are zero emissions at the tailpipe, the EQE attracts a Benefit in Kind (BIK) tax rate of just 2% for the year 2022-23.
