About the Kia K4
The Kia K4 arrived on the UK leasing scene in 2025, accelerating in to replace the now discontinued Kia Ceed while moving alongside the fully electric Kia EV4.
Powered by a traditional petrol engine (with mild hybrid assistance in some cases), the Kia K4 goes up against some of the class’s biggest hitters, including the VW Golf, Vauxhall Astra, and Skoda Octavia.
Unlike many of its rivals, however, the Kia K4 is fitted with fully independent suspension, including on entry-level models.
That means the K4 ‘handles keenly and rides comfortably relative to its rivals’, according to Kia, ‘while imbuing drivers with a sense of confidence and stability at the wheel’.
Why lease the Kia K4?
The K4’s trim line-up is simple and easy to understand (there’s just three to choose from) while even entry-level variants come loaded with a triple screen dashboard layout, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear parking sensors and a reversing camera.
The most potent variants of the Kia K4 get power of 177bhp, which is enough to see the Kia K4 accelerating from 0-62mph in a sprightly 8.4 seconds.
Meanwhile the base petrol powertrain in the line-up is supported by 48-volt mild hybrid tech to help lower your fuel bills and reduce CO2 emissions.
A six-speed manual gearbox is standard on ‘Pure’ models, with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) an option. DCT is standard on ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’.

Kia K4 Frequently Asked Questions
The Kia K4 is powered by either a 1.0-litre petrol engine with mild-hybrid tech, or by a more traditional 1.6-litre petrol unit. The 1.0-litre mild hybrid offers power of 113bhp and can be mated to a manual or automatic gearbox. The 1.6-litre petrol is available with two power outputs; 147bhp (with the GT-Line trim) or 177bhp (with the GT-Line S trim). The 1.6-litre engine option comes exclusively with a manual gearbox.
The Kia K4 is available in three trims; Pure, GT-Line, and the range-topping GT-Line S. Entry level models are well equipped and come with creature comforts like a 12.3-inch touchscreen with sat nav, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a reversing camera. The GT-Line S trim, meanwhile, enjoys a tilting and sliding panoramic roof, heated and ventilated front seats, and a Harman Kardon audio system.
There is no electric powertrain on offer with the Kia K4 - but the K4 is very much a sibling to the Kia EV4, which is fully electric. While there’s no full hybrid version of the Kia K4, the base engine is supported by mild hybrid technology, which can help to lower your fuel bill and cut your CO2 emissions.
When you lease a brand new Kia K4, you’re automatically covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. The K4 is sold as standard with Kia’s seven-year/100,000-mile warranty, with service intervals of 12 months or 10,000 miles (whichever comes sooner).
The Kia K4 has a boot that measures 438 litres - which eclipses the 381-litre boot on offer with the VW Golf and also outsizes the luggage capacity of the Mazda 3 (at 358 litres). Kia claims class-leading rear legroom of 964mm, and 973mm of headroom, to boost the comfort of rear passengers. The rear seats split in 60:40 fashion and include a ski hatch.
