Hyundai reveal new selection of vehicles for 2015

Author: Select Contracts     Date: 11-12-2014

Hyundai have ended 2014 with some tantalising news, especially fans of their current selection  – announcing a range of vehicles that will go on sale in 2015.

Among these new vehicles is a three-door version of the i20, classed as a coupe, but controversially stepping on toes of traditional coupe conventions! This vehicle is intended to be a rival to market leaders the Fiesta, Polo and Corsa. It certainly has a more striking appearance than the original i20, and this is illustrated by a lower, raked roof and a forward-angled swept screen. If you know your boot capacity, then you’ll be delighted to know this version of the i20 has 336 litres of space. The engines will be largely the same as the current five-door version, although a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo is set to join the line-up for next year.

We can also welcome with open arms the next vehicle for Hyundai’s 2015 range – a fecelifted i30 family vehicle. In terms of rivals, Hyundai will be looking for the i30 to rub shoulders with the likes of the Focus, Golf and Astra. No easy feat, that. This vehicle will have a bit going for it in the engine department – a with a turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol engine under the bonnet. This engine can produce a healthy 185bhp, allowing the i30 to reach 62mph in eight seconds, reaching an incredible top speed of 136mph.

The ‘Turbo’ version is somewhat spoilt, receiving 18-inch alloy wheels, sports suspension, and finely detailed front and rear bumpers.

Finally, the Hyundai i40 will also receive some revisions for both it’s saloon and estate versions. These changes are mostly focused on the interior, and Hyundai have stated that it will include a new seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, and a wider range of interior functions and technology – alongside a revised satellite navigation system. It will also benefit from new wheels, rear damping control and lane assist. Handling is also said to be improved and seeing as touch-screens are all the rage at the moment and this will be included in the most recent model.
