An update from Select Car Leasing
We hope everyone is continuing to stay safe and well.
With many restrictions being loosened, we have updated our guidance for customers with a car on order and those anticipating delivery of their new car. While lockdown measures present a challenge to the smooth running of our service, we are working with our partners to get deliveries running efficiently again as soon as possible. Deliveries will recommence over the next few weeks and we are making plans to this end. In the meantime, we have refreshed our guidance below and will continue to update customers with all the latest developments as soon as we have them.
If you are renewing your lease shortly
If your lease is ending soon then we’ve got lots of options here for you, so don’t worry.
Our leasing team can provide you with the right advice and will be calling you in due course.
If you are less than a month away from the end of your lease and have not received any direct communication from our team, please call us directly on: 0118 920 5130.
If you have a vehicle on order
Progress of deliveries will obviously continue to be impacted by the ongoing global situation.
However, with many manufacturers restarting production and dealerships opening - deliveries can be more accurately planned and will be recommencing in the coming weeks.
If you’ve recently ordered a new vehicle that's factory built, there’s a chance your delivery may take a little longer due to global shutdowns as a response to the pandemic. However, we're confident we will be able to provide accurate information on your estimated delivery over the coming weeks and continue to work hard with our partners on this.
If you have any questions, please call our orders team directly on: 0118 920 5130 option #3.

Are lease vehicle deliveries still taking place?
We are in contact with ‘open’ supplying dealers and are working hard to obtain confirmation on delivery availability. Rest assured, all updates will be provided via your customer portal as soon as we have them.
Our deliveries team are also communicating to closed dealerships on their reopening date and will update your portal with any delivery date changes as a result of this.
Are there vehicles available right now?
There are plenty of vehicles 'in stock' that have already been built that you could be driving once deliveries formally recommence. They’re a great option if you don’t want to wait for a vehicle to be built, although you may have to be more flexible when it comes to specification and colour options. To take a look at our some of our best latest offers please simply visit our car leasing special offers page here: https://www.selectcarleasing.co.uk/special-offers/
Any servicing and MOT queries
If you have already advised your vehicle funder that you are no longer using the vehicle there will be no need to get your vehicle serviced, as long as it wasn’t due prior to your end of contract date.
If you are still using the vehicle and have formally / informally extended your contract you will need to arrange a service once the lockdown has been lifted as your vehicle MUST be kept in a roadworthy condition.
If your vehicle requires an MOT, please note MOT expiries have been extended six months. For the latest official government guidance on this please visit: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-mots-for-cars-vans-and-motorcycles-due-from-30-march-2020
When will my initial/ monthly payments be taken?
If you have already taken delivery of your vehicle the finance company can take your first payments from the day of delivery up until 21 days after delivery.
If your payment has not yet been taken and 21 days has passed since delivery, please contact our customer service team on 0118 920 5130.
You must ensure you are retaining all payments as once you are set live with your finance provider all payments will be taken at once.
If you have signed your lease agreements with one of our finance providers, but have not yet taken delivery there is no need to worry as payments will not start until you have taken delivery of your vehicle.
Any payment difficulties
As noted above, it’s best to contact your funder as soon as possible if you think there’s a strong likelihood you may experience payment difficulties.
Just have your specific situation written down before you call - a conversation early on will help them know exactly where you stand. You can find the contact details of your funder here.
If you are still stuck then simply speak to us on the general number above.
