An update from Select Car Leasing

We hope everyone is continuing to stay safe and well.

Following the announcement of a new national lockdown in the UK, we have updated our guidance for customers.

We want to reassure our customers we remain fully operational during this lockdown, with our staff working safely and effectively from home.

While lockdown measures will continue to present a challenge to the smooth running of our service, we are working with our partners to ensure orders and deliveries run as smoothly as possible throughout this period.

We will continue to update our guidance below with the latest information for customers as soon as we have it.

If you are renewing your lease shortly

If your lease is ending soon then we’ve got lots of options here for you, so don’t worry. Our leasing team can provide you with the right advice and will be calling you in due course. If you are less than a month away from the end of your lease and have not received any direct communication from our team, please call us directly on: 0118 920 5130.

If you have a vehicle on order

Dealerships & ports are now open, however staffing has been impacted due to COVID19 and the furlough scheme, therefore it may take us a little longer to get an update on your order status.

Manufacturers have restarted production & time scales can now be more accurately planned and communicated.

Now that we have everyone back we have been working hard to provide accurate information on your estimated delivery over the coming weeks and continue to work hard with our partners on this. If you have any questions, please call our orders team directly on: 0118 920 5130 option #3.

If your lease is due to end very soon/your lease has ended

Vehicle collection service for our finance partners remain open and fully operational, which means collection of your current lease vehicle will not be impacted by lockdown.

However due to finance providers now working from home, please be aware their response time maybe longer than usual.

Rest assured, finance companies and their collection partners have processes in place to ensure your safety that will take into account social distancing and safe collection handovers.

Finance providers are also working hard on the backlog of customers who were unable to return their vehicles during earlier COVID-19 lockdowns, which means logistic companies are currently in high demand.

If your current finance provider is one of the following, please contact endofcontracts@selectcarleasing.co.uk & our end of contract team will arrange the collection on your behalf;

Hitachi Capital

Arval UK Group Ltd

Lex Autolease

LeasePlan UK Ltd

If your current lease is with a different finance provider, please contact them direct to arrange your collection. Are lease vehicle deliveries still taking place?

Deliveries are now taking place safely. BVRLA minimum standards for COVID-19 secure vehicle handovers must be met upon handover or collection of a vehicle. You can view the full guidance from the BVRLA here:

**IMPORTANT PLEASE READ IF YOU WERE UNABLE TO SIGN DELIVERY NOTE**:

If you have taken delivery of a vehicle and were unable to sign the delivery handover form, our invoicing team will email you from invoicing@selectcarleasing.co.uk to confirm your delivery details. Your written confirmation is needed in the absence of a signature in order to set your account live with the finance company and it is imperative that you reply to the email to the email request as soon as possible.

Alternatively, you can pro-actively email invoicing@selectcarleasing.co.uk from the same email address you provided to us using your FULL NAME/ REGISTRATION NUMBER/MAKE and MODEL in the subject line. In the body of the email type:

I ENTER FULL NAME took delivery of this vehicle on ENTER DATE & I can confirm that I am in receipt of the vehicle & agree the delivery note was correct at the time of handover.

If someone else signed the delivery note on your behalf, then your email will need to read as follows;

I ENTER FULL NAME authorised ENTER NAME/ RELATIONSHIP to sign the vehicle handover form on ENTER DATE & I can confirm that I am in receipt of the vehicle & agree the delivery note was correct at the time of handover.

Are there vehicles available right now?

There are plenty of vehicles 'in stock' that have already been built that you could be driving once deliveries formally recommence. They’re a great option if you don’t want to wait for a vehicle to be built, although you may have to be more flexible when it comes to specification and colour options. Any servicing and MOT queries

Following the announcement that the MOT extensions will cease from 31st of July 2020 it is now important that if you have been continuing to use your lease vehicle & your MOT has expired and or your service is due that you get your MOT & service seen to as soon as possible.

*Please note that many of our dealerships are not currently offering a collection and delivery service for servicing and MOT's due to COVID-19.

When will my initial/ monthly payments be taken?

If you have already taken delivery of your vehicle the finance company can take your first payments from the day of delivery up until 21 days after delivery.

Please be aware due to lockdown delivery paper work has been delayed, therefore you may not have had any payments taken yet by your finance provider

If your payment has not yet been taken and 21 days has passed since delivery, please contact our customer service team on 0118 920 5130.

You must ensure you are retaining all payments as once you are set live with your finance provider all payments will be taken at once.

If you have signed your lease agreements with one of our finance providers, but have not yet taken delivery there is no need to worry as payments will not start until you have taken delivery of your vehicle, unless you have been specifically advised an initial payment is due prior to delivery – This would have been communicated to you at the point of order with your leasing consultant.

Any payment difficulties

Please be sure to tell us if you feel your current financial situation has changed prior to taking delivery of your vehicle lease.

As noted above, if you have already taken delivery of your vehicle lease, it’s best to contact your funder as soon as possible if you think there’s a strong likelihood you may experience payment difficulties.

Just have your specific situation written down before you call - a conversation early on will help them know exactly where you stand. You can find the contact details of your funder here.

If you are still stuck then simply speak to us on the general number above.

How can I sell my current car and then lease a car

We work with our dedicated partner, Motorway (https://www.selectcarleasing.co.uk/motorway), to help customers get the best price when it comes to selling their current vehicle.

Despite running a limited service, some vehicle valuations are still available.
