Sue Ryder

Introducing our partnership with Sue Ryder:

At Select Car Leasing, we are proud and delighted to announce our partnership with Sue Ryder, a leading charity that provides care and support for those who are suffering with many complex and life-threatening issues. Sue Ryder is a major part of the local community and makes a difference to countless lives by providing specialist medical care and emotional support to 16,400 people living with an incurable illness every year.

Mark Tongue and James O’Malley, Co-Founders and Directors of Select Car Leasing handed over two brand-new Ford Fiesta's to the Sue Ryder Nettlebed & Duchess of Kent Hospice outside our Market Place office in Reading Town Centre. Previously Select Car Leasing had provided Sue Ryder with the use of a fully branded Vauxhall Astra & the handover marked a continuation of the partnership. Both cars will be fully covered with warranty, tax and servicing and be used for transporting patients to the day hospices and out-patient appointments at the hospice as well as for fundraising events.

Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent and Nettlebed Hospices Director Stewart Marks and Head of Fundraising Tracey Hancock visited the Reading town centre office on September 13th to collect the cars.

Tracey Hancock said: "We’re really grateful to Select Car Leasing Ltd for their support; it makes a huge difference to us not to have to finance a car for a year and helps the hospice save money that we can spend on incredible care here in the local area. For our team to have access to vehicles for all our events and transport between hospices over the last year has been transformational and we’re so appreciative to Select Car Leasing for these new models."

There are plenty of ways to get involved in the partnership and make a difference to the lives across the UK.

Rethink Mental Illness Charity Partnership

We are proud to support Rethink Mental Illness with a donation to the charity for each new vehicle contract during 2015/16. Mental illness affects more people every year than cancer or heart disease - one in four of us in the UK will be affected by a mental health problem in any given year. Severe mental illness can affect anyone, although it often emerges during adolescence or in your early 20s.

Living with a mental health condition can affect many aspects of your daily life, from physical health to work and education. In particular, it can make managing money and securing work more difficult. Mental ill health is also a significant factor in the majority of suicides.

Rethink Mental Illness has over 40 years’ experience of supporting people affected by severe mental illness. They offer a huge range of services and support all around the country to people who are affected by mental illness, as well as to their carers and family members. 60,000 people rely on them every year to help them get through crises, live independently and realise they are not alone. Last year there were also 1.95 million free downloads of their award-winning information.
