VW ID.4 Lease

The Volkswagen ID.4 is a highly-desirable, fully-electric SUV - and it’s on a mission to show lease customers just how attractive electric mobility can be.

The VW ID.4 is a big brother to the smaller VW ID.3 and sits on the same platform as the VW ID.5 SUV-coupe.

Having been revised and refreshed for 2024, the VW ID.4 comes built for busy families, with 543 litres of luggage space and an equipment range that includes an electrically-driven boot lid, roof railings and a towing bracket.

Unlike traditionally-fuelled SUVs, there are zero CO2 emissions at the tailpipe, thanks to a battery and electric motor that combine to produce power of up to 340 PS - when you lease the VW ID.4 in performance ‘GTX’ trim - as well as a range of up to 337 miles between charges.

Electric lease vehicles, like the VW ID.4, make ideal company cars or salary sacrifice vehicles, thanks to a low Benefit in Kind (BIK) tax rate that is fixed at 2% until 2025.

Meanwhile rapid-charging at speeds of up to 175 kW DC can put around 110 miles worth of charge into the battery in as little as 10 minutes.

Equipment wise, an ID.4 lease will bring 30-colour ambient lighting, a 10-inch infotainment display with VW’s Discover Pro navigation system, as well as Adaptive Cruise Control, Front Assist, and Lane Assist, with parking sensors front and rear.

All in all, it’s a great alternative to the likes of the Ford Mustang Mach-E or the Tesla Model 3.

About the Volkswagen ID.4

The VW ID.4 was first launched in 2020 when it was, at the time, the German manufacturer’s first ever electric crossover SUV.

Sitting alongside the more coupe-like ID.5 in the VW range, the ID.4 is a rival to lease competitors like the Skoda Enyaq iV, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and even the Tesla Model Y.

A tech update for 2024 made the ID.4 even more competitive, with added power and a range between charges of up to 337 miles.

There’s also a performance model - the GTX - which comes with power of 340 PS and a 0-62mph sprint time of just 5.4 seconds.

Why lease a Volkswagen ID.4?

You lease the VW ID.4 because you crave a family-sized SUV that offers silent, smooth running and which slashes both your fuel costs and CO2 emissions.

An electric ID.4 lease comes with a generous 543-litre boot and acres of space in the rear for passengers, which will come in handy if you’re part of a busy family.

There are various trim levels to choose from, all of which are exceedingly well-specced.

And if you want performance, you’ve got it with the ID.4 GTX, which features unique exterior styling, a panoramic glass roof, and a rapid acceleration time.

Which Volkswagen ID.4 powertrain is right for me?

A makeover for the ID.4 for 2024 saw the introduction of a VW ‘APP550’ drive unit:

Pro 286 PS

Underpinned by a 77 kWh battery, here you’ll enjoy a range of up to 337 miles between charges and power of 286 PS.

GTX 4MOTION 340 PS

Reserved for the range-topping GTX models, this powertrain enjoys 340 PS and a range of up to 317 miles between charges.

Which Volkswagen ID.4 trim level should I lease?

A shake-up of the trim levels for 2024 saw the VW ID.4 being offered in three main grades:

GTX

GTX

Range-topping GTX models don’t just get the most power, they also feature larger 20-inch alloys, unique upholstery in the cabin, and an augmented reality head-up display.

What vehicles are similar to the Volkswagen ID.4 that I should consider leasing?

Volkswagen ID.5 SUV

SUV

An obvious comparison, the ID.5 shares the same platform as the ID.4 but offers a more swooping, coupe-like appearance compared with the more traditionally-styled ID.4 SUV.

Tesla Model Y SUV

SUV

Tesla’s versatile electric SUV offers a range of up to 331 miles between trips to the plug, while ‘Performance’ models are ballistically-quick.

Volkswagen ID.4 Review

Volkswagen’s march towards an electric future continues with the ID.4 - a mid-size but imposing SUV crossover which runs on batteries - but does it improve on the likes of the Kia e-Niro and Peugeot’s e-2008?

Herbert at select car was the least pushy most friendly and informative person to get the right car and deal for me. It was effortless and so simple. He and his team were so attentive and the whole process was smooth quick and easy. So far excellent customer service. Would definitely recommend Thank you
