Yes - Toyota has introduced a 48 V mild-hybrid system on the UK Land Cruiser, which helps with smoother starts, regenerated energy under deceleration, and improved fuel use. A mild-hybrid system does not allow fully electric driving - it assists the diesel engine rather than replacing it.
The Land Cruiser is available with five, six or seven seats, depending on the configuration you choose. The default in the UK is for seven seats. The third-row bench folds away electrically to create more cargo space when not in use.
The Land Cruiser offers a braked towing capacity of up to 3,500 kg, making it capable of pulling caravans, horse boxes and heavy trailers.
