The MGS6 EV hit the leasing market in 2025 and is yet another vehicle from MG that moves the manufacturer into more upmarket territory.
Not to be confused with the MG IM6 (which is a more executive offering), the MGS6 EV is a large, fully-electric SUV that sits above the MGS5 EV in the firm’s line-up.
It’s a spacious family car that comes with a class-leading 674-litre boot - which eclipses most rivals and also trumps the BMW i5 Touring electric estate.
All models come loaded with equipment as standard, with a list of equipment that includes heated front seats, a 12.8-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and sat nav, and Vehicle to Load skills.
The MGS6 EV makes for a compelling leasing alternative to a host of rivals, including the more expensive Tesla Model Y.
Single motor, rear-wheel drive cars offer the most amount of range, at 329 miles between charges, while still being capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in 7.3 seconds.
All-wheel drive variants of the MGS6 EV are much more potent, with power of 361 PS giving the SUV the ability to sprint from 0-62mph in 5.1 seconds.
That’s Porsche Macan Electric quick, for seriously less money.
Base Long Range models come with 19-inch alloys, a 12.8-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and sat nav, fabric upholstery, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, rear privacy glass, silver roof rails, a rear parking camera, and Vehicle to Load charging (which lets you power external devices, like your camping kettle, with the car’s battery).
The Trophy Long Range adds larger 20-inch alloys, a panoramic glass roof, leather and suede-effect upholstery, ventilated seats in the front, heated seats in the rear, a head-up display, 360-degree camera, power tailgate, ambient lighting, wireless mobile charging, and uprated 11-speaker audio system.
The range-topping Trophy Dual Motor MGS6 EV gets the same spec as the Trophy Long Range but adds an additional electric motor to the front axle for much more power.

Rapid DC charging is up to 144 kW, allowing it to charge from 10% to 80% in about 38 minutes. That’s not particularly quick for the class but should be ample for most motorists, particularly those who charge from home the majority of the time.
Single-motor, rear-wheel drive models have power of 244 PS and 350 Nm of torque, which translates to a 0-62mph time of 7.3 seconds. That’s decent for the category and is quicker than entry-level versions of the Skoda Enyaq or Renault Scenic E-Tech.
All-wheel drive versions of the MGS6 EV have much more oomph, with power of 361 PS and 540 Nm torque resulting in a 0-62mph speed of just 5.1 seconds.
The MGS6 EV should prove extremely practical for lease customers. It’s a large car with a long wheelbase, yet is just a five-seater, which results in plenty of room in the cabin for passengers. A large 674-litre boot is complemented by an additional front ‘frunk’ with up to 124 litres of storage space.
