The Tiggo 9 is the flagship of the Chery range, sitting ahead of the smaller Chery Tiggo 7 and Chery Tiggo 8.
The Tiggo 9 is what Chery calls a ‘Super Hybrid’, which is both self-charging and which can also be plugged in, making it a type of plug-in hybrid.
The innovative powertrain combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with twin electric motors to develop 428 PS and 580 Nm of torque - enough to accelerate the large SUV from 0-62mph in just 5.4 seconds.
Yet despite that brisk performance, the Tiggo 9 Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) system also offers a range of up to 91 miles using nothing but electricity.
