About the Aion V

The Aion V is a tough-looking C-segment SUV that’s similar in size to cars like the Toyota RAV4 or Kia Sportage while also competing with EVs like the Skoda Enyaq, Tesla Model Y and VW ID.4.

It debuted in 2026 and marked Aion’s arrival in the UK leasing market.

A sophisticated and roomy cabin promises a lounge-like experience while the exterior design features the firm’s signature ‘cyber-dragon claw’ front and rear lights and streamlined hidden door handles.

A panoramic sunroof with electric blinds, large 19-inch alloys and an efficiency-boosting heat pump all come fitted as standard.

Why lease the Aion V?

One of the Aion V’s big plus points is its plush and comfortable cabin, which boasts quilted leatherette upholstery and sound-suppressing double-glazed front windows. As Aion points out, they add to a ‘premium ambience more commonly found in higher end brands in the segment above’.

Select ‘Rest Mode’ and the front seats recline to horizontal, the roof sunblind closes and the ambient lighting pulses to mimic gentle breathing. A dedicated ‘Lounge Mode’ offers similar relaxation levels for when you want to watch a movie on the central display.

The Aion V is lavishly equipped as standard, with all models boasting a 14.6-inch touchscreen with four-zone voice control, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, heated and ventilated seats in the front, heated seats in the rear, and wireless phone charging.

Choose the additional Premium pack and you even get a ‘CoolHot Box’ in the centre console with heating, freezing and refrigeration functions.

Aion V Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, Aion is an electric subdivision of Chinese giant Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC) and the V has been jointly created by GAC and automotive distributor Jameel Motors. The Aion V has, however, been produced to cater for UK customers, with its suspension set-up calibrated for British driving habits and roads.

The Aion V begins at £36,450 OTR in the UK, which gives it a price point similar to rival EVs like the VW ID.4, Skoda Enyaq, Nissan Ariya and Renault Scenic E-Tech.

With an Aion V lease, a 75.3 kWh battery unlocks a range of up to 317 miles between charges. That’s highly competitive for the class but does fall short of long range variants of the VW ID.4 and Skoda Enyaq, among others.

The Aion V is designed as a fast-charging EV, with DC rapid charging speeds peaking at 180 kW DC. That enables a swift charge from 10-80% in around 24 minutes. Using an 11 kW AC charger, a full replenish takes around 8.5 hours.

The Aion V is a medium sized SUV that’s similar in size to cars like the Toyota RAV4, Kia Sportage or VW Tiguan. When it comes to fellow electric rivals, the Aion V competes with alternatives like the VW ID.4, Skoda Enyaq, Nissan Ariya, and Toyota bZ4X.

Lee Thomas was excellent in sorting our first business lease for the new PV5. It was hassle free from start to finish and would highly recommend Lee and select car leasing.

The select team were excellent sourcing the vehicle and keeping up to date with delivery timing. My only comment is I live in Cheshire and the vehicle was from Chelmsford. The car was transported, however the driver had no idea on the car set up. I would suggest that you need to consider where the customer lives as the handover should be a good experience.
