A pair of 2.4 and 2.8-litre diesel engines can be combined with either a six-speed automatic or manual transmission.
Choose the 48 V mild-hybrid powertrain (available on Hilux Invincible X double cab models) and you’ll benefit from improved on-road performance as well as more capabilities off-road, thanks to revised low-speed idling control and the adoption of Toyota’s Multi-Terrain Select system.
The entry-level 2.4-litre diesel engine offers power of 150 hp while a larger 2.8-litre diesel unit ups the power to 204 hp.
The 2.8-litre engine can also be enjoyed with mild-hybrid electrification, which improves acceleration while the electric motor generator adds to Hilux’s ability to overcome obstacles off-road.
The base Active trim features 17-inch steel wheels, black PVC interior, a 4.2-inch colour multi-information display, reversing camera, and safety tech like adaptive Cruise Control.
Invincible models add 18-inch alloys, front and rear parking sensors, heated seats in the front, cloud navigation, LED dual-beam projector headlights, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, and privacy glass.
The desirable Invincible X grade unlocks the option of the mild-hybrid engine and also adds 18-inch black alloys, black leather interior, a panoramic view monitor, paddle gear shifters, heated rear seats, and more aggressive exterior styling.
Range-topping GR Sport II models are powered by the same 2.8-litre diesel engine as other models in the range but get much sportier styling. That includes unique 17-inch alloys, a black black honeycomb upper front grille, black wheel arch mouldings, front & rear monotube shock absorbers with red front coil spring, a premium sound system from JBL, aluminium pedals, and GR Sport seats with black suede and leather.
