Say hello to the new version of Britain’s best-selling car - the fresh-faced Vauxhall Corsa.
When you look at the year so far, no vehicle has sold in higher numbers than Vauxhall’s long-running supermini. The Corsa was also runner-up in the UK sales chart for the entirety of 2022.
So this major update for the Corsa is pretty big news - and here’s the headline stats.
First thing’s first, it looks very different compared with the outgoing Corsa.
Vauxhall has given it a ‘Vizor’ front end, which has been fitted to all other passenger cars in the firm’s line-up, beginning with the Mokka.
It gives the Corsa a clean, modern look that makes it really stand apart from rivals like the Hyundai i20 and Volkswagen Polo, while it looks just as sharp as the Peugeot 208.
Other updates include new 17-inch alloy wheels with added black-effect detailing.
As before, you’ll be able to enjoy the Corsa with a traditional petrol engine, while a mild-hybrid variant will be launched later this year.
But the BIG news is that the battery-powered Corsa Electric is getting more power and extra range between charges.
The current Corsa Electric has power of 136PS and a range of up to 222 miles between charges. The NEW Corsa Electric will have a slightly larger 51 kWh battery, more power at 156 PS, and you’ll also be able to travel up to 255 miles before you need to stop and plug in once more - which is a 15% boost in range.
All leccy Corsas come as standard with an 11kW on-board charger, allowing for a 0-100% charge to be completed in 5 hours and 15 minutes. Using a 7kW home wall box will take slightly longer at 7 hours and 30 minutes,
But the Corsa also supports 100kW rapid charging, which will take the battery from 10-80% in just 30 minutes.
There’s also new kit for the cabin.
The infotainment system has been upgraded to give you a larger 10-inch touchscreen, while the 7-inch driver display gets better graphics.
The steering wheel has been redesigned, while wireless phone charging is available for the first time.
Orders for the New Corsa open later this summer with first deliveries set to arrive at the beginning of next year.
