Top safety ratings for the Skoda Superb whilst the Hyundai i20 and Fiat Panda Cross fell short

EuroNcap has revealed the safety ratings of Skoda Superb, Hyundai i20 and Fiat Panda Cross. The Superb is the third model in 2015 that has achieved a full five star rating and joins with the Suzuki Vitara and Renault Espace.

Latest models of Skoda Superb, Hyundai i20 and Fiat Panda Cross have been tested though leading independent safety organisation EuroNcap where the Skoda Superb has achieved a full five star ratings whilst the Hyundai i20 received four and Fiat Panda Cross ended up with just three.

Skoda Superb

Skoda Superb - Five Star EuroNcap safety ratings

The Skoda Superb is the third car in 2015 to achieve five stars after the Suzuki Vitara and Renault Espace. The new Superb is on sale now, and accounted for 86% of safety ratings in both the adult and child protection category. Pedestrian rating was at 71% with 76% safety assist.

The Superb is Skoda’s first model fitted with blind spot detection, traffic jam assist, emergency assist, rear traffic alert and smart light assist with adaptive cruise control, lane assist and standard electronic stability control.

Hyundai i20

Hyundai i20 - Four Star EuroNcap Safety Ratings

The Hyundai i20 is a new supermini that has earned four star ratings. The car has impressed with a total of 86% adults occupant protection. The safety assist accounted 64% where the electronic stability control is fitted as standard while the speed limiter and a lane departure warning system are available as options.

Fiat Panda Cross

Fiat Panda Cross - Three Star EuroNcap Ratings

Fiat Panda Cross is another car was tested and achieved only a three star safety rating, not an impressive figure for potential Fiat buyers.The Fiat Panda Cross achieved 70% adult occupant, 77% child occupant, 50% pedestrian and 46% safety assist.

The Panda Cross comes with electronic stability control as standard with seatbelt reminder but neither a speed limitation system nor lane assist systems are available to the Panda Cross.

The minimum score required for five star EuroNcap safety ratings are: 80% adult occupant, 75% child occupant, 65% pedestrian and 70% safety assist.

We are still waiting for the new models to be tested such as new Passat, new 2 Series Tourer, Renault Kadjar and Jaguar XF.
