Skoda Enyaq iV Gets Sporty New Trim

Skoda has lowered the suspension and improved the looks of its all-electric Enyaq iV SUV to create an eye-catching new ‘Sportline’ trim.

The Enyaq iV was revealed in the summer of last year, with the first deliveries to customers due to arrive in the Spring.

Smaller than the Kodiaq, Skoda’s full-fat SUV, but bigger than the compact Karoq, the Enyaq iV is billed as a more practical alternative to the likes of the Hyundai Kona Electric and Kia e-Niro.

We already knew that the iV would be available in two power outputs - a 62kWh battery to power a 132kW motor, or a larger 82kWh battery to fuel a 150 kW motor - with a range of up to 323 miles.

We also knew that there would be a swanky ‘80 Founders Edition’ with 21 inch alloys, an illuminated front grille, and black leather interior.

But now Skoda has added another trim option - ‘Sportline’ - which offers improved agility, 20 inch alloy wheels, and uprated exterior styling.

And the firm has also revealed a new power option - the 195 kW Enyaq iV ‘80x’, which is all-wheel-drive and, with the equivalent of some 260 hp, should be pretty rapid.

First thing to note is the lowered sports chassis, regardless of whether you opt for the rear-wheel drive or all-wheel-drive version.

Here the iV sits 15 mm lower at the front and 10mm down at the rear, compared with the regular car, which Skoda says ‘provides a sporting edge’ to the way the car handles.

The sporty theme is continued in the interior, where owners get sports seats with integrated headrests, a three-spoke multifunction leather sports steering wheel and carbon-effect trims.

The dashboard is also upholstered in a black synthetic leather with grey contrasting stitching and features carbon-effect trims, differentiating it from the standard iV.

The exterior styling is different, too.

The SportLine iV gets a new front apron while the grille, window frames, roof rails and rear bumper diffuser are all detailed in black. Self-adjusting LED Matrix headlights come as standard.

A Skoda spokesperson says: “The SportLine version of this new all-electric SUV has been created to appeal to drivers who like the dynamic look of ŠKODA’s performance models but with the added practicality of a full-size SUV.”

A boot size of 585-litres as well as a roomy, simple and uncluttered interior makes the Enyaq iV a tempting package for families.

Hakan at select was so helpful. He did everything to find me the car I wanted at a good price. He was also really helpful once my car had been ordered, chasing the dealer for a date and making sure everything was running smoothly. Very personable and nothing ever seemed too much trouble.
