New hybrid Nissan Juke now ready to order

The much-loved Nissan Juke is joining the electrification revolution - and a first-ever hybrid version is now available to order.

It’s no secret that the Juke crossover is one of Britain’s most popular vehicles, and a great alternative to the Ford Puma, Volkswagen T-Cross or Vauxhall Mokka.

And having been a fixture of UK roads since 2010, the car that made hatchback-SUVs a ‘thing’ is getting its debut outing as a hybrid.

The system itself is a self-charging hybrid - which means it doesn’t need to be plugged in.

It marries a 1.6 litre petrol engine with an additional electric motor to produce total power of 143 PS and 205 Nm of torque. It’ll be capable of accelerating you from 0-62mph in a shade over 10 seconds while returning up to 56.5mpg.

And that’s the important bit here. The regular 1.0 litre petrol engine you’ll find in other Jukes has less power, at 117 PS, and is less economical, returning up to 48 mpg.

CO2 emissions are also lower with the hybrid - 114g per km compared with 134 g/km with the petrol variant - which should save you money on your tax bill.

Guillaume Cartier, Chairperson at Nissan, says:

“Nissan’s electrified product strategy is gaining momentum and the new Juke Hybrid represents another milestone on our strategic ambition to have a fully-electrified range by 2023.”

It’s important to say here that regular petrol Jukes will still be available.

When it comes to trim levels, the hybrid starts with the ‘N-Connecta’, followed by the Tekna and Tekna+. Those entry-level N-Connecta models will come with 17-inch alloys, automatic climate control, a leather steering wheel and shift knob, as well as a more aerodynamic rear spoiler and an uprated BOSE sound system.

Another great thing about the new hybrid Juke is the ‘e-Pedal Step’ function. Long story short, it means you can use just the accelerator pedal to both increase your speed and slow it down.

A Nissan spokesperson explains:

“When the foot is lifted from the accelerator, moderate braking is applied (up to 0.15g) and will decelerate the Juke to a crawl (~3mph).”

There’s also a special, limited edition of the hybrid available - called ‘Premiere Edition’. These variants get larger 19 inch alloys, black tinted headlamps, lower side finishers finished in either black or white depending on which colour you go for, and graphic detailing on the roof and door mirrors.

The hybrid Nissan Juke starts at £27,250 to buy outright, meanwhile the Juke leasing range with Select Car Leasing begins at just £207 per month*.
