Updated new Alpine A110 unveiled

The multi award-winning Alpine A110 is back with a bang for 2022 - and this facelift brings more performance, uprated tech, and better choice for lease customers.

In case you need a recap, Alpine is a sporting subsidiary of parent company Renault and which made a spectacular comeback in 2017 having previously been mothballed in 1995.

And it’s safe to say the famous Alpine A110 sports coupe was nothing short of an astonishing success.

A rival to the likes of the Toyota GR Supra, Audi TT Coupe, and Porsche 718 Cayman, the A110 has racked-up a slew of industry awards, which includes scooping the coveted ‘Best Sports Car’ gong two years in a row from What Car? magazine.

Now the A110 has been given the nip and tuck treatment for 2022.

The same basic principal applies as before - there’s a base A110, a sportier A110 S and an A110 GT.

But what’s new is that the range is now more powerful than before and there are improvements to the kit on offer.

A spokesperson explains:

“Today, Alpine is unveiling its new A110 range consisting of the A110, the New A110 GT and the New A110 S. All three revised versions of the A110 line-up are characteristically Alpine, and each has its own distinctive character and purpose. In their own way, they treat drivers to three kinds of Alpine experience.”

So, let’s start with the entry-level A110.

It used to get a power output of 249 hp, but that’s now been boosted to 252 hp. It’ll also now sprint from 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds and then on to a top speed of 170 mph. Alpine says the regular A110 is ‘light, lively and precise, and delivers an agile and vibrant drive on all roads’.

You get 17 inch alloys, black microfibre sports seats and a new Alpine multimedia system - complete with 7 inch touchscreen -and with enhanced connectivity.

Moving up a grade, the A110 GT is Alpine’s grand tourer, which seeks to strike a balance between performance and everyday, long journey comfort.

There’s power of 300 hp, a 0-62mph time of 4.2 seconds, and things are also improved with larger 18 inch alloys, leather sports seats, an exclusive ‘Thunder Grey’ paint job, and driver assistance systems like parking sensors front and rear and a rear-view camera

At the top of the tree sits the A110 S. Like the GT, it too boasts power of 300 hp and a 0-62mph acceleration time of 4.2 seconds, but with a unique sports chassis and the option of aero bodywork, it’s a sharper, more precise tool than either the GT or the A110.

You also get a dedicated sports exhaust system, high performance Brembo brakes, and specially recalibrated anti-roll bars and springs for optimum handling.

Antony Villain, Director of Design at Alpine, says:

“The New Alpine A110 S is the first A110 with a rear spoiler. We ran the A110 S through many wind tunnel tests, which showed that it needed substantial aerodynamic support to reach its maximum speed.
“The Aero Kit is our answer to that challenge. The A110 S peaks at 170mph, has fantastic looks and is set to be a star on the tracks that takes on any race against the clock.”

The Alpine A110 range is available to order now with non-leasing prices starting at £49,905 on the road.

Very straightforward process. All staff members that I spoke with were courteous and helpful with my query. Vehicle arrived and communication with select was excellent. Would highly recommend.
