With just 2 weeks to go until the start of the British Motor Show, which incorporates the Select Electric Motor Show (SEMS), it's exciting times at Select Car Leasing.
Sponsored by Select Car Leasing, Hall 5 has been rebranded as a fully Electric Show and will house all electric content, future tech, Retro Electric as well as a raft of electric vehicle suppliers.
SEMS will feature a variety of the latest electric cars on display - including Tesla, Mercedes-Benz, VW, Audi and many more - with experts on hand to answer consumers’ questions plus a variety of electric cars to test drive too! The SEMS will also incorporate The IMI technology Theatre where there will be a variety of sessions helping to educate and inform car buyers about everything electric.
The separate show within a show, targeted at technology fans and those thinking of switching to EVs, Select will also be providing a variety of the latest electric cars for the AFC Alternative DrivE Experience, where visitors will be able to experience the latest in EV technology for themselves around the British Motor Show’s 2km test drive circuit. Last year Select Car Leasing launched its Select Electric brand, dedicated to offering both business and personal leases on Electric Vehicles.
Mark Tongue, Company Director of Select Car Leasing said:
“We are very excited at the prospect of the Select Electric Motor Show running within British Motor Show in two weeks time. We feel it's critical to help develop the UK public’s awareness of electric vehicles. Every day thousands of people are visiting our website and considering EVs and with these vehicles being right at the forefront of our business offering it is critical we work with industry to help the general public become more understanding of the core future of mobility.”
The organisers of The British Motor Show recently announced an expanded show for 2021, including three driving experiences, including The Caterham Experience, The Paul Swift Stunt Driving Experience and the Under 17 Driving Lessons. “We’ve been using the recent lockdown and also our Pop-Up Motor Show in Basingstoke to refine some of our plans,” said British Motor Show CEO Andy Entwistle.
“Almost everyone we’ve spoken to both from inside the industry and members of the public have told us there’s a huge appetite for physical shows and events and the restrictions placed upon all of us in 2020 have only served to stoke that appetite. We’re delighted today to announced the Select Electric Motor Show as part of our enhanced plans, which we truly believe will deliver the best automotive event of 2021 and firmly put the British Motor Show on the global calendar.”
Set to take place at Farnborough International from August 19-22, no other Motor Show has ever delivered such a variety of content, celebrity guests and live action, nor has it had such a focus on supporting our incredible automotive industry, which contributes £18.6 billion to the British economy at a time when it needs it most.
The Show has also announced a long-term major partnership with cinch, the UK’s most exciting online car retailing platform, which will run for at least five years.
As well as a tantalising display of new cars, when the show opens its doors in August it will feature an action packed Live Arena, a Live Stage, motoring celebrities, a robot making competition, Retro-Electric Live, a Supercar Paddock, classic cars, the IMI Technology Theatre, test drives, a kidz zone and a dedicated marketplace area full of petrolhead gift ideas. It will also feature the Automotive Careers Expo and the UK Automotive Industry Day on Thursday August 19.
Tickets cost just £18.50, or £37 for a family of four.
