The stylish, all-electric Volkswagen ID.5 is a premium SUV coupe that’s both easy on the eye and pleasant on the purse strings.
And with a hot ‘GTX’ version also up for grabs, there’s real performance to enjoy alongside the market–leading electric range.
The ID.5 sits at the pinnacle of VW’s ID range of electric vehicles (EVs), ahead of the ID.3 and the ID.4, and it’s a close competitor to the likes of the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron, Kia EV6 and Ford Mustang Mach-E.
About the VW ID.5
First launched in 2022, the Volkswagen ID.5 is essentially a coupe version of the more traditionally-shaped VW ID.4.
It boasts a sleek sloping roofline for a more aerodynamic design and svelte silhouette.
And that more slippery design also results in a slight increase in the electric range between charges compared with the more traditionally-shaped ID.4.
There’s a good breadth of trim levels and batteries to choose from, with GTX models bringing the performance. You can also expect Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capabilities, which lets you power external devices using the car's battery.
