About the Vauxhall Astra hatchback

The Vauxhall Astra is a hatchback with real history, having first been launched in the UK way back in 1980.

For many years the Astra was also built right here in the UK, with countless models having rolled off the factory floor in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.

The Astra’s longevity can be credited to its universal appeal, being a hatchback that marries style with comfort and which is affordable to lease and run.

The Astra also has racing pedigree, having featured in the British Touring Car Championship. That track heritage lives on in sporty GSe models, which come with lowered suspension and uprated dampers for sharper handling.

Why lease the Vauxhall Astra hatchback?

When you lease a Vauxhall Astra, you’re getting behind the wheel of one of the most versatile vehicles on the market.

A 422-litre boot is larger than you get with one of the Astra’s key rivals, the Volkswagen Golf, while there’s ample legroom in the back for rear passengers.

There’s a wide mix of powertrains, with power of at least 130 PS, while the GSe models bring some sporting performance to the table.

The entry-level Griffin trim is generously equipped as standard, coming with 17-inch alloys (on petrol cars), a contrasting black roof, tinted rear windows, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, wireless smartphone charging, 10-inch touchscreen and a rear-view camera.

Which Vauxhall Astra hatchback powertrain is right for me?

Petrol

A traditional 1.2-litre petrol engine offers power of 130 PS and can be mated to either a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Hybrid

The Hybrid powertrain is a sophisticated mild-hybrid set-up that combines a 1.2-litre petrol engine with a 21kW (28 PS) electric motor and an electrified six-speed dual-clutch transmission for a combined 145 PS.

Plug-in Hybrid

The plug-in hybrid powertrain is available with trims higher up the range and boasts power of between 180 PS and 225 PS. Expect an EV driving range of up to 54 miles. The sporty GSe PHEV models are capable of accelerating from 0-62 mph in 7.5 seconds.

Which Vauxhall Astra hatchback trim level should I lease?

Griffin

Griffin

Entry-level Griffin models offer exceptionally good value and come equipped with 17-inch alloys, a black roof, tinted rear windows, heated seats, heated steering wheel, keyless start, wireless charging, a 180-degree camera, 10-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, separate 10-inch digital instrument cluster.

GS

GS

The GS trim offers ambient lighting, sports seats, dual zone climate control, Intelli-LED Headlights with high beam assist and automatic lighting control, and Adaptive cruise control with Stop/Start.

Ultimate

Ultimate

An Astra lease at the Ultimate level unlocks enhanced semi-autonomous driving tech, uprated Pixel headlights, a head-up display and larger 18-inch alloys.

GSe

GSe

The range-topping GSe trim unlocks the most powerful 225 PS plug-in hybrid powertrain and is the sportiest car in the Astra line-up. You’ll enjoy suspension that sits 10mm lower than the regular Astra, uprated Koni dampers, exclusive ESP settings, and Alcantara-clad sport seats.

The Customer portal was very useful to keep track of the order. The delivery and processing time met my expectations. Good value for money on the lease deal.

Select Car Leasing are good at keeping you informed as to when the car will be delivered. The overall process was good, their sales people responded immediately to all emails/queries. My vehicle was delivered as planned, however it was a little late in the day and quite dirty. My first action was to take it to a car wash. Overall I would recommend them.
