About the Toyota Aygo X Hybrid
The Toyota Aygo X (the ‘X’ is pronounced ‘Cross’, by the way) was first launched in the UK in 2022 to replace the original Aygo hatchback.
While the old Aygo was very much a traditional hatch, the Aygo X adopts a higher riding position and an SUV-like stance.
Things improved further in 2026 when the Aygo X was replaced with this, the Aygo X Hybrid.
As the name suggests, the traditional 1.0-litre petrol engine was jettisoned in favour of a self-charging hybrid powertrain which offers generous amounts of power as well as class-leading levels of fuel economy.

Design
The Design trim adds a gloss black upper front grille, rain-sensing wipers, LED headlights, push-button start, and wireless phone charging.
Excel
The Toyota Aygo X at the Excel grade gets a larger 10.5-inch infotainment screen, heated front seats, rear parking sensors with automatic braking, and dual-zone air con. The Excel model is also available with a canvas roof as an option.
GR Sport
The range-topping GR Sport features sportier exterior styling with a black contrast roof, synthetic suede and leather upholstery with GR badging, a perforated synthetic leather steering wheel and gear knob cover, a gloss black GR steering wheel insert, GR Sport floor mats, and model-specific alloys.
