KGM - formerly known as SsangYong prior to a rebrand in 2024 - sourced the batteries for its Torres EVX from Chinese heavyweights BYD. That means that Torres EVX comes with BYD’s patented ‘Blade’ technology, which is said to be ultra-safe and ultra-strong compared with rivals and which is built to stand the test of time.
The Torres EVX’s battery supports rapid-charging at up to 145 kW, which can replenish the energy from 10 to 80 per cent in just 37 minutes.
Vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities means you can power domestic appliances straight from the car’s battery when you’re enjoying the great outdoors.
The EVX also comes generously equipped as standard.
Inside the cabin you’ll find eye-catching double 12.3-inch displays as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as a 3D 360-degree surround view camera.
There’s a full suite of driver assistance and safety tech, including Emergency Lane Keeping, which automatically takes over the steering to keep you safe in your lane.
The KGM Torres EVX sits apart from the traditionally-fuelled Torres, which features a 1.5-litre petrol engine, and can also be leased with Select Car Leasing.
