About the Jaecoo E5

The Jaecoo E5 arrived in 2025 as the manufacturer’s first all-electric SUV, sitting alongside the traditionally-fuelled Jaecoo 5.

Both Jaecoo and Omoda are sub-brands of the same manufacturer - Chinese giant Chery - which means the Jaecoo E5 is a sibling to the similarly-sized Omoda E5.

The Jaecoo E5, however, is designed for lease customers who want a ‘more rugged, outdoors-focused SUV’, the firm says, as opposed to the urban-focused Omoda E5.

As such, the Jaecoo E5 even comes with a dedicated ‘Pet Mode’, which keeps the cabin at a safe temperature for your four-legged friend when you’re parked.

Why lease the Jaecoo E5?

The Jaecoo E5 is both affordable and stylish, with the design of the electric SUV often likened to the upmarket Range Rover Evoque.

The E5 is underpinned by a 61.1 kWh battery that offers a range of up to 248 miles between charges.

The compact SUV supports public fast charging at 80 kWh, which can top the battery from 30 to 80% in around 27 minutes while the standard 11 kW AC charger makes overnight charging at home effortless.

A ‘digital-first’ cabin is built around a 13.2-inch high-definition portrait touchscreen and the ‘Hi Jaecoo’ voice assistant. Standard features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 540‑degree panoramic camera system, and app-based remote controls.

Which Jaecoo E5 SUV powertrain is right for me?

Electric

A 61.1 kWh battery unlocks a range of up to 248 miles and supports rapid charging at 80 kW DC or 11 kW AC recharging at home. Generous power of 207 PS and 288 Nm of torque drives the front wheels and sees the Jaecoo E5 accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in 7.7 seconds.

Which Jaecoo E5 trim level should I lease?

Pure

Pure

All models feature a 13.2-inch portrait touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as a 540-degree panoramic camera and dedicated ‘Pet Mode’ for the cabin. The Pure trim also features a six-speaker Sony sound system, and ‘Level 2’ automated safety features which simultaneously control steering and speed.

Luxury

Luxury

The Luxury specification adds a panoramic sunroof, wireless mobile phone charging, heated and ventilated electrically adjustable front seats, multi-coloured ambient lighting, and an eight-speaker Sony audio upgrade.

Jaecoo E5 - Frequently Asked Questions

Both Jaecoo and Omoda are owned by parent company Chery and both the Jaecoo E5 and Omoda E5 have a similar 61 kWh battery. The Jaecoo E5 is billed as a more outdoorsy SUV for those who have pets or who love the great outdoors. The Omoda E5 has a slightly longer range between charges at 257 miles (compared to 248 miles with the Jaecoo E5).

The Jaecoo E5 boasts vehicle-to-load tech, which lets you power external appliances from the car’s battery - perfect for camping or other activities in the great outdoors.

While it’s a compact EV, and smaller than the traditionally-fuelled Jaecoo 7, the Jaecoo E5 could still be the ideal family lease car. A 480-litre boot is generous for the class while a ‘Pet Mode’ keeps the cabin at a safe temperature when you’re parked.

With a 61.1 kWh battery, the Jaecoo E5 offers a range of up to 248 miles between charges.

Public fast charging at 80 kWh can restore the energy in the Jaecoo E5 from 30 to 80% in around 27 minutes. It supports home charging at 11 kW AC for effortless overnight replenishes.
