Japanese firm Isuzu specialise solely in pick-up trucks in the UK. And their award-winning D-Max sets the benchmark for rugged dependability, whether you’re behind the wheel for business or weekend adventures.
Both critics and lease customers love the D-Max, with the vehicle winning the 2022 ‘Pick-up of the Year’ award from What Van? and 4x4 Magazine. Meanwhile the recently-revamped model is, according to Isuzu, the ‘smartest, strongest and safest Isuzu D-Max of all time’.
There’s just one model in the UK Isuzu range - the D-Max. But this is a pick-up that can be had in a number of guises, whether you need affordable commercial reliability or something much tougher, in the form of the D-Max Arctic Trucks AT35, which has been built to tackle the harshest and most extreme environments on Earth.
The Isuzu D-Max is an extremely safe pick-up, having been awarded the maximum five-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme). Base ‘Utility’ models come with safety tech such as Brake Assist, Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control as standard.
Those entry level models also feature Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking and Isuzu’s Lane Departure Warning and Prevention system.
The most affordable Isuzu to lease is the D-Max Utility pick-up truck. It’s a highly-capable performer which can also be specced to your tastes, including with the option of rear-wheel-drive as opposed to 4x4.
There’s a single cab, extended cab and double cab up for grabs, with a maximum load length of 2315mm. It’s powered by a gutsy 1.9 litre diesel engine with power of 164 hp and max torque of 360 Nm.
The base ‘Utility’ trim D-Max is extremely affordable and is, according to Isuzu, built for the graft, day in, day out. There are also other D-Max models in the range to suit adventurous lifestyles as well as commercial work.
The D-Max V-Cross features a sumptuous leather interior, heated front seats, a 9 inch infotainment touchscreen, a reversing camera and rear differential lock for optimum comfort.
The Isuzu D-Max goes toe-to-toe with rival pick-ups such as the Ford Ranger, the Toyota Hilux and the SsangYong Musso.
