The fun-loving Super-N is a compact city car that’s been built to deliver the ‘joy of driving’ to the affordable EV market, according to Honda.
It’s a souped-up version of Honda’s N-series ‘Kei’ car range sold in Japan and while it’s a lightweight urban commuter it’s got the soul of a hot-hatch.
A dedicated ‘BOOST’ button ups the power while bathing the cabin in purple ambient lighting. With Boost mode engaged, you can also enjoy the sensation of shifting gears via the paddles behind the steering wheel.
All models also come with a premium Bose audio system as standard, with a subwoofer located under the boot floor for punchy tunes when you’re on the move.
The Honda Super-N is underpinned by a small 29.6 kWh battery that unlocks a range of 128 miles in combined driving, or 199 miles in the city.
That’s not a huge distance compared with some rivals but what the Super-N lacks in distance abilities it makes up for in attitude.
The exterior features flared wheel arches, chunky side skirts and a large rear spoiler - aggressive details absent in most other cut-price EVs.
Charging speeds hit 50 kW DC which enables a recharge to 80% in around 30 mins.

The Honda Super-N is a compact electric city car based on Honda's Japanese N-Series kei-car platform. It combines retro-inspired styling with an all-electric powertrain and unique features such as Boost Mode and simulated gear changes.
Honda quotes up to 199 miles of city driving range for the Super-N, while the combined range is reported at around 128 miles. Actual range will depend on driving style, weather and use of Boost Mode.
The Super-N supports DC rapid charging and can charge from 10% to 80% in around 30 minutes. Charging power is expected to peak at around 50kW.
Boost Mode temporarily increases power output and activates simulated gear shifts, engine sounds and special interior lighting effects to make the car feel more engaging to drive.
The electric motor produces around 63hp in normal driving, with Boost Mode increasing output to approximately 94–95hp.
