The regular Citroen SpaceTourer is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine with power of 180 PS and which is capable of returning around 40 miles to the gallon.
The very latest version of the electric e-SpaceTourer, on the other hand, can be leased with a choice of two different batteries. A 50 kWh unit offers a range of up to 139 miles as is perfectly suited to 'daily shuttles between a city centre and an airport', for example, says Citroen. A larger 75 kWh battery provides a range of up to 217 miles as well as power of 136 PS.
The e-SpaceTourer comes equipped with a 7.4kW onboard charger as standard and can be fitted with an optional 11kW three-phase charger. From a 7.4kW AC charger, the 50kWh battery can be fully recharged in 6 hours 40 minutes and the 75kWh battery in 11 hours 20 minutes.
Using an 11kW AC charger, a full recharge is achieved in 4 hours 50 minutes for the 50kWh battery and 7 hours 30 minutes for the 75kWh battery. With a 100kW DC rapid charger, it only takes 38 or 45 minutes to charge the battery from 0-80%.
Meanwhile the latest e-SpaceTourer also features a 10-inch HD touchscreen as standard along with a more practical interior than ever before, coming with larger storage compartments and cupholders at each side of the upper dashboard that have been modified to accommodate smartphones as well.
The Citroen e-SpaceTourer is a rival to the likes of the Vauxhall Vivaro e-Life and the Peugeot e-Traveller, and because there are zero emissions at the tailpipe, business lease customers will enjoy a low Benefit in Kind (BIK) tax bracket.
