About the BMW i5 Touring estate

Launched in 2024, the i5 Touring joined the BMW line-up alongside the fully-electric i5 Saloon. It’s also a battery-powered equivalent to the traditionally-fuelled BMW 5 Series Touring.

BMW says its i5 Touring ‘combines responsive driving dynamics, instant electric performance and intuitive driver-focused technology with modern versatility’.

And what that means is that lease customers enjoy a smooth silent running, effortless power, and cabin that’s supremely well-equipped.

You can also expect rapid 205 kW DC charging capabilities.

Why lease a BMW i5 Touring estate?

One of the big reasons to lease the BMW i5 Touring estate instead of the i5 Saloon is boot space.

The i5 Touring gets 570 litres of luggage space, which trumps rivals like the Volvo V90 Recharge hybrid and is well beyond the 490 litres of boot area you get with the BMW i5 Saloon.

You also lease the i5 Touring because you crave performance.

While power begins at a relatively modest 340 hp, range-topping M60 xDrive variants boast 601 hp, 795 Nm of torque, and a 0-62mph time of just 3.9 seconds.

Which BMW 5 Series Touring powertrain is right for me?

eDrive40

The entry-level powertrain offers power of 340 hp, up to 347 miles of range, and a 0-62mph time of 6.1 seconds. It can be mated to the Sport Edition, M Sport, and M Sport Pro trims.

M60 xDrive

The most potent, all-wheel drive BMW i5 Touring offers power of 601 hp and blistering pace, and you still get a healthy range of up to 310 miles between charges.

Which BMW i5 Touring estate trim level should I lease?

Sport Edition

Sport Edition

The entry-level grade provides 19-inch alloys, vegan upholstery, roof rails, a 14.9-inch ‘Curved Display’ touchscreen, wireless phone charging, reversing camera, and BMW’s ‘Driving Assistant’, which includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning.

M Sport Pro

M Sport Pro

The BMW i5 M Sport Pro Touring gets additional exterior style flourishes, including a blacked-out and backlit front grille, as well as larger 20-inch alloys, red brake calipers, and a panoramic roof.

M60

M60

Besides more power, the i5 M60 xDrive Touring adds larger 20-inch alloys and extras such as a Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System with up to 18 loudspeakers.

What vehicles are similar to the BMW i5 Touring estate that I should consider leasing?

Peugeot e-308 Estate

Peugeot e-308 Estate

While not as luxurious as the i5, the Peugeot e-308 SW estate enjoys a range of up to 254 miles between charges as well as a 548-litre boot.

Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo

Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo

The Taycan Cross Turismo is a more compact estate compared with the i5, but you do get a 446-litre boot and the prestige of that Porsche badge at the front.

Vauxhall Astra Estate

Vauxhall Astra Estate

The battery-powered Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer Electric comes with 516 litres of luggage space and a range of up to 256 miles between charges.

Audi A6 Avant

Audi A6 Avant

While this particular Audi isn’t fully-electric, the A6 has long been a rival to the BMW 5 Series and the Avant estate features 565 litres of luggage space.
