The BYD Dolphin Cargo e-Van is a conversion of the regular BYD Dolphin, transforming the EV from a hatchback into a versatile LCV.
With the rear seats removed and a dedicated load area installed, the BYD Dolphin Cargo e-Van offers 1,090 litres of cargo space and a payload of around 393 kg.
You get a full metal bulkhead behind the front seats and the load area itself is phenolic ply (plywood coated in a durable resin-based overlay) for maximum robustness.
There’s also an additional 47-litres of storage under the load floor.
Unlike some affordable small vans, the BYD Dolphin Cargo e-Van comes generously equipped as standard.
That kit list includes a heated steering wheel, heated seats, an efficiency-boosting heat pump, a 360-degree parking camera, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capabilities, which lets you power external devices without the need for an additional energy source.
The BYD Dolphin Cargo e-Van is underpinned by a 60.4kWh ‘Blade’ battery that delivers a range of up to 265 miles in mixed driving, as well as decent amounts of power.
