Having launched a wealth of electric and hybrid passenger cars, BYD has turned its attention to vans, providing affordable alternatives to some of the most popular Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) in the market.
The BYD Dolphin Cargo e-Van is a car-derived van designed for rapid urban deliveries and which boasts a 265-mile range and 393kg payload.
A dedicated load bed is protected by a full metal bulkhead and also comes lined in resin-coated ply for added durability.
BYD has patented its own ‘Blade’ battery, thanks to a dedicated Truck Research Institute, which isn’t just 50% more compact than other units on the market, but it’s also ‘ultra safe’, thanks to the way it can dissipate heat.
The BYD Dolphin Cargo e-Van makes use of that Blade pack and can return up to 347 miles on a full charge in city driving scenarios.
