The aquatically-named Dolphin is a 100% electric vehicle from Chinese manufacturer BYD.
And with compact proportions and a range of up to 265 miles between charges, it’s both nautical and nice!
The BYD Dolphin is a small hatchback-SUV crossover that competes in the same leasing market as the Volkswagen ID.3, MG4 EV, and the Renault Megane E-Tech.

It’s an affordable type of battery, too, which also helps keep the BYD Dolphin well priced, particularly in terms of lease competitors like the Cupra Born and the MINI Electric hatchback.
There are a number of different trim levels to enjoy with a BYD Dolphin lease.
And the great news here is that even entry-level models come positively loaded with equipment.
You can expect, as standard, a heat pump, which works to make sure you always eke-out the maximum range possible from the battery, even in the coldest months of the year.
You also get, as a minimum, heated sports seats, ‘vehicle-to-load’ tech that lets you use the car’s battery to power other appliances, and a full suite of driver assistance and safety software including Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Lane Keeping Assist.
BYD - one of the most prolific sellers of electric vehicles on a global scale - says the Dolphin is the ‘epitome of safe, efficient and practical eco-friendly motoring’.
It also makes sense as a company car for business lease customers, attracting a low Benefit in Kind (BIK) tax of just 2%, which is fixed until 2025.
