Select Van Leasing are so pleased to be supporting the Whitley Community Development Association (CDA). The charity help tremendously in the local and wider Reading community providing much needed provisions of food surplus and parcels to those requiring extra support.
Maria Cox, Community Development Worker for Whitley CDA, commented:
“When the pandemic hit and we went into lockdown in March 2020 we rapidly expanded our provisions. The impact of job loss and furlough has deeply affected people within the Whitley area and the demand for food surplus has continued to increase.
The van provided by Select will really help to enable volunteers who don’t necessarily have their own vehicle, to collect food from supermarkets, wholesalers and individual donors. Ultimately allowing us to continue providing our service to those who need it most.”
