If you’re motoring on a budget, the new Citroen C3 YOU! might be just the lease car you’re looking for.
The Citroen C3 is an innovative little supermini that goes up against key rivals like the Suzuki Swift, SEAT Ibiza, Renault Clio and Ford Fiesta.
It’s got four doors to accommodate the family, there’s a decent 300-litre boot that’s pretty much on a par with the luggage room available with the Ford Fiesta, and when the purse strings are tight, the C3 really is a great leasing option.
At the time of writing, you can lease a C3 from Select Car Leasing from as little as £162 per month*.
And now things are about to get even better.
Citroen has this week unveiled a new entry-level YOU! model that costs just £12,995 on the road. To put that into perspective, the entry-level Ford Fiesta would set you back at least £17,905, while the mild-hybrid Suzuki Swift begins at £15,499.
This is, then, Citroen’s most affordable new vehicle right now, after it mothballed the smaller C1.
And the French firm is at pains to point out that just because the C3 YOU! is cheap, it’s not drab.
Eurig Druce, Citroen’s UK Managing Director, said:
“New C3 YOU! – with its starting price from just £12,995 – is inspired by Citroën UK’s on-going commitment to ‘Fair Pricing’. This is a brand new five-door B-segment supermini at a used car price. It’s an offer that represents undeniable value for our customers.”
All C3 YOU! models enjoy LED headlights, body-coloured bumpers. Bluetooth connectivity, a five-inch central touchscreen and DAB digital radio. You also get Hill Start Assist, tyre pressure monitoring, a video-based lane departure warning system and speed sign recognition and recommendation.
You even get cruise control and speed limiter, as well as a ‘Coffee Break Alert’ feature to remind you to take a pit-stop during long journeys.
Powering the C3 YOU! is a gutsy 1.2 litre, three cylinder ‘PureTech 83’ petrol engine with 83 PS and which will return around 54 mpg, making it cheap to run.
And the Citroen C3 model range in the UK now consists of five trim levels: YOU!, Sense, C-Series, Saint James and Shine Plus.
Previously, the most affordable C3 in the UK range was in ‘Sense’ trim with the same PureTech 83 petrol engine – priced from £16,260.
