The 2014 Paris Motor Show is underthreat of being overrun with Citroen's, with the manufacturer predicted to dominate on it's own turf. The Francais giant has unveiled yet another crossover vehicle to feature alongside the C4 cactus Airflow 2L, and the DS Divine at Europe's Premier motoring event. The C1 Urban Ride at concept stage isn't too disimilar to the all-new C1 city car, suggesting this reveal isn't quite as revolutionary as those before it. Initially, the C1 Urban Ride looks significantly bulkier than the original city car, with larger bumpers and a chunkier rear-end that accomodate the LED running lights, plastic cladding and contrast-colour skidplates.
Customers are expected to have two options upon launch, a choice between 68bhp 1-litre and 82bhp 1.2- litre three-cylinder petrol engines. The vehicle will also be equipped with Front-wheel drive, and a five-speed manual gearbox.
Many have dubbed the C1 as a serious challenger to Vauxhall's Adam Rocks which looked to have gazumped the market, but the Urban Ride is set to offer serious competition.
As is the way with most previews from now until the 2nd October details are hard to come by, but it appears that there will be Two Urban Ride versions at the show: a fabric-roof version, and a hard-top equivalent. We can, however, offer some speculation on the launch front due to the fact that the vehicle has undergone little changes it is likely to land sometime next year. For those of you lucky enough to be heading out to the style capital of the world for the upcoming show - Citroen will be holding a vote about when to roll out it's latest vehicle.
