The self-charging E-Tech powertrain combines a 1.6-litre petrol engine, a 1.2 kWh lithium-ion battery and two electric motors, to produce power of 145 hp and 250 Nm of torque.
The Renault Arkana E-Tech full hybrid starts off in electric mode by default and can run on pure electric power for up to 80 per cent of the time in city driving. The highly efficient drivetrain also results in CO2 emissions as low as 105g/km
The Arkana is also incredibly well-specced.
Entry-level models enjoy 17-inch alloys, tinted rear windows, automatic climate control, and a 7-inch infotainment system with sat nav and wireless smartphone connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
