Don't just take our word for it. We're rated at 4.9/5 on independent reviews website Trustpilot from over 49,902 genuine customer reviews
Jon was excellent throughout the process, and really worked hard for me. There was a small price discrepancy, as the “in stock deal” on the website only indicated the price for a base model without any additional options, which was not actually possible to order - which I felt was a little misleading. However, Jon worked up a deal I was happy with, and communicated very well throughout the process - including following up with some issues after delivery. I will definitely use again.

Yeh, good service a bit of headache filling forms couple of times but turn around was very good and with the maintenance cover it’s peace of mind.

What's great: I'm now driving a lovely Lexus at a far more affordable price than I could find elsewhere. My contract includes a full maintenance deal which isn't always available with other providers. The sales process and arranging the finance was a good experience, with lots of support from Dave. Thanks Dave! BUT ... Once the contract had been agreed, communication was terrible. I was told that I would get access to the portal (which is the only way to track progress) 'shortly': it took 2 weeks and multiple phone calls and emails (initiated by me)to gain access. Promises to phone me back were not met. In the end, Dave sorted it out. Thanks Dave. The portal looked promising as it appeared that I could track my car's journey from the factory in Japan to delivery. However, apart from me uploading identity documents to it (not acknowledged until I got in contact), the portal did not change except to put my expected delivery date back a month (no explanation). Then out of the blue, the Lexus dealership phoned me to say that my car was ready for collection. This was surprising as the portal located the car in Japan, and gave me a bit of a dilemma as I needed to get rid of my current car at very short notice (anyone looking for an Audi Q2?). Nothing from Select Car until I contacted them to say where the car was. Their failure to contact me was apparently the Lexus dealership's fault in some way ... which I find hard to believe to be honest. I made the decision to collect the car rather than have it delivered, in order to get a proper dealership handover, which I was told was fine. Only nothing happened until I phoned Select Car and was told that I had to arrange collection directly with the dealer. That was news to me, but I did it, and was then sent regular emails informing me that my car was due to be delivered to my house on that date. A few more phone calls followed to sort that out ... Maybe I just had a poor experience. Maybe if you go for a car that is in stock rather than a factory order the process might be smoother. At the end of the day, I did get my car at a good price and within the original time frame, so on reflection I've changed my rating from 3 to 4 stars. But it was a frustrating journey which some joined-up communications at Select Car would have made a happier overall experience.

About the Peugeot 308 hatchback

The Peugeot 308 hatchback first hit UK roads back in 2007, when it was introduced to replace the popular Peugeot 307.

The 308 hatchback is something of an all-rounder, offering a smooth and comfortable ride quality while also proving quiet and stable at motorway speeds.

A Peugeot 308 lease lets you choose from a selection of powertrains, including a petrol hybrid, diesel, and plug-in hybrid, all of which boast excellent fuel economy.

While this page is devoted to the Peugeot 308 hatchback, you can also lease its sibling car - the Peugeot 308 SW estate.

Why lease the Peugeot 308 hatchback?

The latest variant of the Peugeot 308 hatchback is arguably the most striking yet, featuring aerodynamic bumpers with air intakes on the outside edge that replaces the old single ‘tiger claw’ light signature.

A new body-coloured new front grille is said to optimise air flow.

Meanwhile the GT and GT Premium trims come as standard with an illuminated front end that makes the Peugeot 308 even more distinctive.

The pick of the powertrains is the 195hp plug-in hybrid, which offers an EV driving range of up to 53 miles, which is a big improvement on the previous model.

Which Peugeot 308 hatchback powertrain is right for me?

Petrol hybrid (self-charging, never needs to be plugged in)

Engine: 1.2-litre petrol with hybrid assistance | Power: 145hp | Acceleration: 0-62mph in 9.2 seconds | Fuel economy: 56.5 mpg | EV range: Short distances in urban scenarios | Transmission: 6-speed automatic.

Plug-In Hybrid

Engine: 1.6-litre petrol with 17.2 kWh battery| Power: 195hp | Acceleration: 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds | EV range: 53 miles | Charging: 2 hours with 7.4kW charger | Transmission: 7-speed automatic.

Diesel

Engine: 1.5-litre diesel | Power: 130hp | Acceleration: 0-62mph in 10.6 seconds | Fuel economy: 59.6 mpg | Transmission: 8-speed automatic.

Which Peugeot 308 hatchback trim level should I lease?

Allure

GT

Peugeot 308 hatchback Frequently Asked Questions

The Peugeot 308 hatchback is available to lease with three distinct powertrains; a petrol hybrid, a plug-in hybrid, and a traditional diesel engine. The plug-in hybrid 308 is capable of travelling up to 53 miles in EV mode and is the most powerful of the three engines, at 195hp.

The EV driving range for the Peugeot 308 hatchback plug-in hybrid is a maximum of 53 miles on a single charge. Using the 7.4kW onboard charger, standard on GT Premium, the plug-in hybrid can be recharged in just over two hours.

Boot capacities for the Peugeot 308 hatchback vary according to the powertrain. Petrol hybrid and diesel models have 412 litres of luggage space while the plug-in hybrid has less, at 361 litres, in order to accommodate the battery. That compares well to rivals, with the VW Golf coming with either a 381-litre boot (for regular models) or 273 litres of luggage space (for the plug-in hybrid).

The latest Peugeot 308 hatch is fitted as standard with a 10-inch touchscreen, reversing camera, and lane keep assist. The GT trim adds a connected sat nav and an illuminated front end for better roadgoing visibility. The range-topping GT Premium grade enjoys a 360-degree camera and head-up display.

The latest update gives the Peugeot 308 a redesigned front end, an illuminated Peugeot badge (for GT and GT Premium models, and a cleaner rear end with the three inclined LED ‘claws’ positioned on each side of a black lacquered band.
