About the MG IM6
The MG IM6 SUV and its sibling car, the IM5 saloon, arrived in 2025 and marked an ambitious new chapter for MG.
The IM (or ‘Intelligent Mobility’) name belongs to an existing brand owned by MG’s parent company SAIC Motor.
Here in the UK, the IM6 is sold under the MG banner (albeit with minimal MG badging) with IM essentially becoming an MG sub-brand.
Unlike other more modest vehicles in the MG range, the IM6 is a premium, executive vehicle that offers everything from ‘One Touch’ parking to a ‘Rainy Night Mode’, which deploys radar, cameras and additional sensor data to enhance safety in poor visibility conditions.
Its sleek, sloping roofline also gives the IM6 the silhouette of a sports coupe.

Performance
The IM6 in Performance trim is the most potent of the lot whilst it also adds larger 21-inch Sport wheels.
Launch Edition
The Launch Edition is available in limited numbers but features air suspension, which the other models in the range don’t have.

Tech features include adaptive cruise control, intelligent lane change, and MG’s ‘One Touch’ automated parking system.
