Why lease a Maserati?
Maserati, founded in 1914 in Bologna, Italy, by the Maserati brothers, began as a workshop building race cars. The brand quickly gained recognition for its engineering excellence, claiming early racing victories such as the 1926 Targa Florio.
Post-WWII, Maserati transitioned into road cars, introducing the elegant A6 series. The 1950s and ’60s were golden years, with racing triumphs — including Juan Manuel Fangio’s 1957 F1 championship in a Maserati 250F — and stylish road cars like the 3500 GT and Ghibli.
In 1968, Maserati was acquired by Citroën, leading to innovations like the hydraulically assisted Bora. After financial struggles, it passed through several hands, including De Tomaso and Fiat. The 1990s saw a revival under Ferrari (also owned by Fiat), with models like the 3200 GT and the Quattroporte returning Maserati to luxury prominence.
In the 2000s, Maserati expanded globally, launching the GranTurismo and entering the SUV segment with the Levante in 2016. Now part of Stellantis, Maserati is embracing electrification, launching the Grecale Folgore SUV and the all-electric GranTurismo Folgore. Balancing luxury, performance, and Italian flair, Maserati remains a symbol of distinctive automotive passion and design.
At the summit of the Maserati range is its two-seat sports cars. The MC20 (available as a coupe or in convertible 'Cielo' form) made way for the MCPura in 2025.
With its butterfly doors, V6 engine, and elegant looks, the MCPura embodies 'pure energy, pure elegance, pure performance', according to Maserati.
At the opposite end of the leasing scale is the popular Maserati Grecale, a premium, medium-sized SUV that competes with the Porsche Macan. The Grecale is available to lease with a petrol, hybrid or fully-electric powertrain and also makes a great alternative to vehicles like the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and the Range Rover Velar.
