The self-charging ‘350h’ full-hybrid powertrain is underpinned by a 2.5-litre petrol engine.
The plug-in hybrid powertrain is called ‘450h+’ and ups the power to 306 hp while also ensuring the Lexus NX can travel for up to 40 miles using electricity alone.
The PHEV Lexus NX will also appeal to company car drivers as it attracts a low Benefit in Kind (BiK) tax rate.
Lexus has long placed a great emphasis on safety, so it’s no surprise that the NX comes loaded with driver assistance tech fitted as standard.
Entry-level models come equipped with the ‘Lexus Safety System+’, a comprehensive suite that includes Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), intelligent high beam assist, lane departure alert, and pre-collision capabilities.
You can also expect, as standard, 18-inch alloys, a 9.8-inch infotainment touchscreen, heated front seats, and a premium 10-speaker sound system.
The NX sits in the Lexus range alongside the smaller Lexus UX and the larger Lexus RX while rivals include the Audi Q5 and BMW X3.
