Once known as the ‘e-Niro’ before being heavily revamped in 2022, the all-electric Kia Niro EV boasts class-leading range, cutting-edge styling and rapid charging capabilities.
And with a spacious 451 litre boot, it’s arguably one of the best battery-powered, compact family cars on the market.
Read moreThe Kia Niro family slots in the manufacturer’s range alongside the similarly-styled Kia Stonic and Kia Soul EV. And as well as this fully-electric model, you can also lease the Niro as a self-charging hybrid-electric or a plug-in hybrid.
While the all-electric Niro EV has enjoyed a major overhaul in terms of style and tech, it’s a car that simply builds on the success of its predecessor - with the outgoing e-Niro praised as the first ever electric vehicle to win the coveted ‘What Car Car of the Year’ award.
One of the most striking things about the Kia Niro EV is its colour-contrast ‘c-pillars’ towards the rear of the car, an exterior detail that helps to set it apart from rivals such as the Hyundai Kona Electric or Smart #1.
It’s an exceptionally ‘green’ car, too, with a liberal use of sustainable materials throughout, including a roof headlining made from recycled wallpaper.
When it comes to the powertrain, the Niro EV is packing a 64.8kWh battery that gives lease customers a range of up to 288 miles between charges.
There’s plenty of power - some 203 PS combined with 255 Nm of torque - which means the Niro EV will accelerate from 0-62mph in just 7.8 seconds. That’s rapid for such an unassuming school-run favourite.
And the Niro EV also has DC rapid-charging capabilities, up to around 77 kW, with a 10 to 80 per cent battery refresh taking around 43 minutes.
The Niro EV comes loaded with equipment, no matter which trim level you opt for.
Base ‘2’ models, for example, boast 17 inch alloys, an 8 inch infotainment touchscreen, rear parking sensors, smart cruise control, and Kia’s danger-detecting ‘Forward Collision Avoidance Assist’ safety system.
Top-of-the-range ‘4’ models add extras such as a head-up display, a sunroof, an uprated sound system, and Kia’s ‘Remote Smart Parking Assist’ tech, the latter of which enables you to control your vehicle as you would a remote-controlled car, using your key fob. The idea is that when you’re standing outside the car, instead of sitting behind the wheel, you’ll be better equipped to park in those really tight spots.

In simple terms, leasing is the single most cost-effective and hassle free method of driving a brand-new car, and with Select Car Leasing you can be sure that you are in safe hands.
So simple, the website is easy to use, clear and accurate, I just chose the car and sent an enquiry, then Danny contacted me to confirm my choice. He made it so easy for me, I just sat back while he did the legwork sorting the finance and ordering the car. Once he'd put everything in place, just a few signatures from me and the deal was done, all from the comfort of my armchair. Thanks Danny, we'll definitely be back for our next car
Good communication, good service. Delivery was very efficient and as expected. Handover was professional and friendly.
This is my 6th lease car through Select Car Leasing. The offers are unbeatable, the systems and IT top-of-the-line and the support and customer care provided - in my case by David Shaw - was excellent. Highly recommended company to deal with.
