At the beginning of 2024, a major rebrand saw SsangYong motors becoming KGM here in the UK.
And the Actyon - a mash-up of the phrases ‘Act Young’ and ‘Act On’ - joined the KGM line-up in 2025 to sit between the Torres SUV and the larger Rexton seven-seater.
The Actyon takes the traditionally-shaped Torres and adds a svelte coupe-SUV silhouette for added dynamism. It’s an eye-catching design that brings to mind rivals like the Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Velar.
While the Torres is available as a fully-electric EVX model, the Actyon is driven by a traditional 1.5-litre petrol engine.
The Actyon’s looks are a real strong suit, marrying sophistication with a sense of go-anywhere purpose.
Despite the Actyon’s design, it doesn’t yet offer all-wheel drive and a 1.5-litre engine instead powers the front wheels. That powertrain is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
There’s just one trim to choose from with a KGM Actyon lease, called ‘K50’, and which offers all manner of creature comforts, including a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, Nappa leather upholstery, noise-cancelling Michelin tyres, and a 3D 360-degree surround camera.
The sole trim level is ‘K50’. It offers 20-inch alloys, black Nappa leather seats, a glowing crystal gear switch, noise-cancelling Michelin tyres, laminated front door glass, and a dual 12.3” digital cluster and infotainment display with TomTom navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, front and rear heated seats, ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. Safety tech includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist and autonomous emergency braking.
