First launched in 2024, the Proace Max Electric is the largest battery-powered LCV in Toyota’s range, sitting ahead of the smaller Proace Electric and Proace City Electric.
The Proace Max Electric is underpinned by a 110 kWh battery that unlocks a practical range of up to 260 miles between charges.
You also don’t need to compromise on cargo carrying capabilities when you choose the Proace Max Electric over the diesel Toyota Proace Max.
It’s the Electric variant that actually has the larger payload (up to 1,460kg) while also boasting a longer load length (up to 4,070mm).
You can lease the Toyota Proace Max in two lengths and two heights - and if you go big on both of those choices you actually get a van that’s larger than the diesel Proace Max.
All variants get the same 110 kWh battery and are front-wheel drive.
There’s just one trim level - Icon - which features a 10-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a 7-inch driver’s screen and a reversing camera.
The Toyota Proace Max Electric has also been praised for its safety, having recently been awarded the maximum five stars by industry assessors Euro NCAP - a score the large Toyota shares with the Fiat E-Ducato.
The large, electric Fiat E-Ducato is available in a dizzying number of variations, with three wheelbases and three heights and two battery sizes to choose from.

The real-world driving range of the Toyota Proace Max Electric will vary depending on how it’s being used - including the number of motorway miles and how much cargo you’re carrying. Some estimates suggest a real-world range of between 160-200 miles is realistic.
The Toyota Proace Max Electric supports rapid charging at 150 kW, which can replenish the energy in the battery from 10-80% in around 55 minutes. Overnight AC charging at 11 kW results in a full recharge in around 16 hours.
Since 2012, Toyota and Stellantis have enjoyed a partnership where they supply light-commercial vehicles (LCVs) under a so-called ‘badge-engineering’ arrangement. And, yes, the Toyota Proace Max Electric shares the same platform as the Fiat E-Ducato, Peugeot e-Boxer, Citroen e-Relay and Vauxhall Movana Electric.
Thanks to some clever engineering, the Toyota Proace Max Electric actually has a greater payload than the diesel-powered Toyota Proace Max. The electric version can carry up to 1,460kg while the diesel makes do with a max payload of 1,400kg.

Efficient and professional team
This is the third lease company I’ve used, but in terms of the ordering process, the communication, the documentation and the speed of delivery I would have to place Select first for customer service. I also secured a great price (for a Hyundai Tucson) as well as having the flexibility of not needing to pay a deposit, which made the deal very attractive. However, I’m fully aware that you can’t truly judge a car leasing company until the end of the contract when the car is being returned, as that is what genuinely separates one leasing company from another. On that basis, my rating is based on the relationship to date. The delivery of the car itself was one area where I have experienced a superior service from another lease company. The company in question would deliver their cars on a transporter so the cars were delivered to my house in immaculate condition with something like 20 miles on the clock. The car I received a few days ago was driven about 100 miles to my home, on a rainy day in December, so it was handed over to me dirty. A relatively minor point.
