Toyota Proace City Electric is a key lease rival to other battery-powered small panel vans like the Citroën e-Berlingo, Peugeot e-Partner and Vauxhall Combo Electric.
Just like the traditionally-fuelled Proace City van, the Proace City Electric is built for hard graft, coming with a maximum payload of 800 kg, a 740 kg braked towing capacity, as well as a range of up to 208 miles between charges.
Each Toyota Proace City Electric lease is powered by a 50 kWh battery that offers 136 PS, which is ample for keeping up with stop-start urban traffic. Rapid 100 kWh charging can also replenish that battery from 0% to 80% in just 32 minutes.
Two wheelbase sizes are available - ‘Short’, or ‘Long’ - while all models are well equipped as standard.

The Proace City Electric is the most compact van in Toyota’s range of light commercial vehicles, sitting behind the larger Proace Electric and Proace Max Electric.
Thanks to Toyota’s commercial relationship with manufacturing giant Stellantis, the Proace City shares its underpinnings with the similarly sized electric vans from Citroen, Peugeot, Vauxhall and Fiat.
A Toyota Proace City Electric lease is also a greener alternative to the more traditional, diesel-powered Toyota Proace City.
The Proace City Electric is available in two trims; Icon and Sport. And the good news is that Icon models are generously equipped as standard, coming with 16-inch steel wheels clad in hub caps, a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, a 10-inch screen with DAB radio, and Apple CarPlay / Android Auto connectivity.
While the Proace City Electric has a reduced payload compared with the combustion-engined Toyota Proace City, it still enjoys a 800 kg load capacity and a 750 kg braked towing capacity.
Short models have 3.3 cubic metres of load space while Long models up the capacity to 3.9 cubic metres. Two sliding doors come as standard.
Range-topping Sport models are well worth a look, as they feature body-coloured bumpers, 16-inch alloys, and safety tech improvements that include lane departure alert with steering control.
A range of up to 208 miles between charges lags slightly behind some rivals but should be perfect for urban work.
The e-Berlingo is the fully electric version of the regular Citroen Berlingo panel van, and gets a 171-mile range between charges and an 800 kg payload.
