The largest pickup truck that Hennessey has ever made, at 7.2 metres long and more than 2.2 metres wide the Mammoth definitely lives up to its name. Aside from the sheer scale of the machine that dwarfs regular cars and even pickups, the highlight is the attention-grabbing twin rear axles.
Providing six-wheel drive, the four rear wheels allow for impressive traction in challenging terrains, aided by a host of off-road kit from locking rear axles and Bilstein suspension, to 20-inch wheels clad in 37-inch off-road tires.
It’s all built around a RAM TRX pickup, a powerful pickup that makes the Ranger Raptor look a little tame. Hennessey takes the truck and then lets its engineers loose, resulting in increased power and performance.
The 6.2-litre ‘Hellcat’ V8 petrol engine output is boosted by more than 300hp, thanks to the addition of a high-flow 2.65L supercharger, fuel injectors and high-flow induction system, leaving the Mammoth delivering an astonishing 1,012hp. That’s backed up by a torque output of 1,314Nm - more than three times the pulling power of an Isuzu D-Max.
Beyond a third axle that extends the truck by more than a metre - and increasing the cargo volume at the same time - and the power upgrades, Hennessey has added some of its distinctive style to the truck. Custom front and rear bumpers, a front levelling kit, and an LED light bar in the front bumper ensure everybody knows you’re coming.
Inside, the cabin has been trimmed with plush materials, from Alcantara and leather to carbon fibre and aluminium, along with Hennessy embroidered headrests.
John Hennessey, company founder and CEO, said:
“Everything we do at Hennessey Performance is turned up to 11, but the Mammoth 1000 6x6 is definitely turned up to 12! Everything on the Mammoth 6x6 is bigger, badder, and more imposing – plus, it’s still super-fast, while being a total powerhouse off-road. It’s the undisputed king of the road.”
There’s a price to pay for this level of performance and customisation. While it’s unlikely to be available on a £600 a month lease, you can order one directly from Hennessy with a starting price of $449,950. After import duties and VAT, that’s around £450,000. Be quick though, as Hennessey will be building just 12 of these behemoths a year.
