About the Ford Explorer Van

Developed by Ford Pro’s specialist conversion team at Dagenham, the Ford Explorer Van is an electric commercial vehicle based on the Explorer SUV.

With a payload of 650kg and 1,460 litres of load space, the Explorer Van might not be able to carry as much cargo as a typical small LCV.

But where the Explorer Van excels is its range - up to 373 miles between charges - while it enjoys all the tax benefits of a commercial vehicle.

If you need a useful alternative to Ford vans like the E-Transit Custom or E-Transit Courier, the Explorer Van might fit the bill.

Why lease the Ford Explorer Van?

The starting point for the Ford Explorer Van is the popular Ford Explorer SUV, and the conversion is carried out in-house at Ford’s Dagenham Conversion Centre.

The rear seats are removed, a full bulkhead is fitted behind the front seats, and the rear load area is reworked with lashing points and movable cargo dividers.

The rear side windows are also obscured to meet N1 commercial vehicle classification requirements.

There’s a choice of two batteries - a 77 kWh unit or larger 79 kWh pack - and you can also choose an Explorer lease with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

The Explorer Van’s cabin features a 17-litre MegaConsole as well as a separate hidden and lockable ‘Private Locker’. You can also expect safety tech such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, a rear-view camera, and a built-in route planer. Various packs are available, which add extras such as a roof rack, rear window security mesh, and hard-wearing seat covers.
