Frequently Asked Questions

When choosing to lease a vehicle with Select Car Leasing regardless of whether you live in an urban or rural location, we will aim to deliver directly to your doorstep however, exclusions apply.

Free delivery will apply to all customers based in England, Scotland, and Wales. Please be aware that for some locations in Scotland north of Edinburgh and Glasgow, additional delivery charges may apply. This will be dependent on the supplying vehicle manufacturer. Please speak to your leasing consultant for further information.

For customers based in Northern Ireland, delivery will be dependent on who the finance provider is. Some will insist that the vehicle is sourced locally, others will allow transportation between the UK and Northern Ireland in line with new import regulations. Customers who wish to meet a delivery driver at a mainland UK port must complete necessary importation documents with a recognised shipping company prior to delivery being arranged. Please speak with your leasing consultant for further information.

Tesla - commonly Tesla's are required to be collected. This may be from a regional Tesla location, or a pre-arranged collected site. Details of the collection location will be advised by the Leasing Consultant. Delivery can be arranged at an additional cost. 

Vehicles are usually driven to customers' home/place of work by a delivery agent.

In some cases, the vehicle may be transported on a 'low loader' truck but this is not usually the case. If your vehicle is being delivered via a transporter at your request, this will usually incur an additional charge.

Most dealerships and manufacturers do not provide the option for customer collection of their vehicle. 

Tesla - commonly Tesla's are required to be collected. This may be from a regional Tesla location, or a pre-arranged collection site. Details of the collection location will be advised by the Leasing Consultant.

Due to our finance providers strict delivery guidelines we can only deliver as per the following;

  • BCH – Business Contract Hire – The vehicle can only be delivered to the business/ registered address and the Director MUST sign for the vehicle upon delivery.
  • PCH – Personal Contract Hire – The vehicle can only be delivered to the customer’s home address and the Lease Holder MUST sign for the vehicle upon delivery.

If you do require someone else to sign for the delivery of your vehicle, you MUST complete a letter of authority via your customer portal ‘Alternative Signatory’.

The change of signatory circumstances will be looked at & authorised on a case by case basis and further checks will need to be carried out prior to your vehicle delivery date.

If you or your authorised signatory are outside of the your company/ home address upon delivery arrival – You / they must evidence that you / they can access the company / home address. ID will be checked again upon delivery of your vehicle.

Please ensure you thoroughly inspect the vehicle prior to signing the delivery note and record any anomaly’s on the delivery note, be sure to mark if you receive the vehicle in bad weather etc.. in case visibility is poor.

You will simply need to have proof of ID such as a passport or drivers licence.

Due to our finance providers strict delivery guidelines and to prevent Fraudulent Activity, ONLY the lease holder should sign for delivery of the vehicle;

  • BCH – Business Contract Hire – Only the director of the company can sign for the vehicle upon delivery.
  • PCH – Personal Contract Hire – Only the lease holder can sign for the vehicle upon delivery.

Unfortunately, we are not allocated specific time delivery slots, however the driver responsible should least call you one hour before they arrive.

In some (but not all) instances, drivers are able to provide their customers with an app that provides real time updates on the vehicle's whereabouts and the vehicle's ETA.

No, delivery mileage will not count towards your annual mileage (the only exception being VW Finance Services)

The vehicle is usually delivered with at least a quarter of a tank of petrol (however this is not a contractual obligation).

In most cases, the driver will provide at the very least a basic handover service when they deliver the vehicle. For full details on the vehicle however, please refer to your manufacturer's vehicle handbook.

You will be given two full sets of vehicle keys by your delivery driver.

Yes, we do deliver to Northern Ireland.
