Father Christmas charted a course for Reading F.C’s Select Car Leasing Stadium this weekend - aided by horsepower rather than reindeer strength.
Since the beginning of the month, Santa has been touring Berkshire in his trusty sleigh supplied by the Woodley & Earley Lions Club.
Saint Nicholas is also travelling in style - because he’s being pulled by ‘Rudolph the Red Nosed Ford Ranger’, supplied by the Select Van Leasing light commercial vehicle (LCV) division.
And on Saturday 10th December Santa put a trip to the Select Car Leasing stadium on his wish list, to coincide with Reading F.C’s Championship clash with Coventry City.
It’s an important day in the season for Reading F.C, as the match is a designated ‘Schools & Grassroots’ game, where tickets were made available to kids aged 12 and under for just £1.
There were also discounts available for all age-groups as part of the scheme.
As part of the visit, St Nick and his team made it their mission to collect vital funds for the Woodley Food Bank, helping those in need during what might be a tough month for many families in the region.
Daren Jasper, Head of Commercial Vehicles at Select Van Leasing, says he’s delighted to have been able to pimp Santa’s ride.
He said:
“When the Woodley & Earley Lions Club reached-out to us for help with its Christmas sleigh pull, we really welcomed the opportunity.
“The Christmas sleigh brings so much joy to so many people - and it’s a tradition that’s familiar to many of the staff here at Select HQ, too.
“It’s great that Santa also gets to meet so many young Reading F.C and Coventry City fans.”

The Woodley & Earley Lions Club has raised more than £1 million pounds for charity since its inception in 1980 and has collected money for many different organisations, including supporting hospices and special needs schools as well as supplying a fully-equipped vehicle to Community First Responders.
