Maxus invests £30M to power up e Deliver 9 electric van lease deals

Maxus is investing £30 million to encourage van operators to make the switch to electric power, with a £15,000 subsidy available against the e Deliver 9 electric van.

The support package from Maxus is available on all variants of the e Deliver 9, including the traditional panel van as well as dropside, tipper or Luton box variants. Customers will also be able to specify an e Deliver 9 fridge van, welfare van or even milk float thanks to the network of specialist bespoke converters Maxus works with, ensuring all driver and business needs can be met.

Available to leasing companies as well as retail buyers, the support programme is open to all customers, from owner-operators to the largest of fleets, with a £15,000 subsidy set aside for each vehicle ordered as part of the campaign.

“EV sales have been steadily rising in recent years. However, the pace at which the market is making the switch is still too slow if the UK is to successfully fulfil its commitment to phase out fossil fuel vehicles by 2030,”

explains Mark Barrett, general manager of Harris Maxus.

“Achieving this target is no easy feat and it is going to take a monumental effort from all stakeholders. Maxus recognises that we have a key role to play in accelerating the rate of change, this is why the company has pledged to support the UK’s transition to zero emissions transport by encouraging drivers to switch to electric driving right now.
Our new £30M EV conquest programme will help ensure that by the end of the year there will be an additional 2,000 eLCVs on the road, and 2,000 fewer ICE powered vehicles. We believe this is an unprecedented demonstration of industry playing its part in supporting the move to electric motoring.”

The Maxus e Deliver 9

Built to rival the dominant Ford Transit, as well as being a direct rival for the electric Renault Master ZE, the Maxus e Deliver 9 is available in two lengths, with the panel van having a cargo capacity ranging from 9.3m3 to 11m3. Opt for the Luton van and that extends to 20m3. Payload limits are surprisingly high, considering the weight of the battery pack the Maxus has to carry around, with the most capable version able to take 1,870kg of cargo.

The van is propelled by a 203hp motor that delivers 310Nm of torque, giving enough performance to keep most drivers content. Power is delivered by a battery pack mounted under the floor, with capacity choices of 51.5, 72 and 88.55kWh. The most efficient model with the biggest battery pack will run for 219 miles before needing a charge, according to official figures. Battery cooling systems ensure rapid charging is available, reducing downtime to just 45 minutes when topping up from 5% to 80%.

The cabin is a comfortable place for the driver and any passengers, with a touch-screen infotainment system allowing drivers to stay safely connected while on the road. Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available to ensure drivers have everything they need at their fingertips, including navigation and access to music streaming services.
