Iveco Strengthens Driveaway Line-up With 3.5T Daily Conversions

Iveco has expanded its range of ready-built van conversions in its ‘Driveaway’ programme, following growing customer demand. The extended range now includes three new Daily 3.5-tonne models; a Traffic Management Cab, a Curtainside model, and a Welfare Van.

The Traffic Management Cab 3.5T features a dropside body, an integrated sign rack, cone wells, and a sliding access panel and is, unsurprisingly, designed to support traffic management tasks. The aluminium-constructed vehicle has been created in collaboration with body builder Brit-tipp and uses the expertise of Iveco to ensure that the payload capacity of the Daily’s truck-based chassis is used as effectively as possible.

The 3.5-tonne Curtainside 3.5T model, developed alongside Bodywork Solutions, delivers on cargo volume and accessibility. It offers two rows of internal lashing bars and a barn rear door, making it highly usable and versatile. The anti-slip floor surfacing is made from recyclable thermoplastics, which is consistent with Iveco’s sustainability commitments and is now also a feature available in the sister 7.2-tonne model. All new Driveaway Daily box vans will be built using Omnia panels constructed using recycled materials, reinforcing the company’s focus on sustainability.

Finally, the 3.5-tonne Welfare Van 3.5T offers an option for businesses that need to transport both people and tools and cater for their needs, day to day. It is fitted with comfortable seating for up to seven occupants, a sink area with hot and cold water tanks, a microwave, a hot water boiler, and toilet facilities, ready to serve the workforce's needs while on-site.

Each of the three new Driveaway vehicles is powered by Iveco’s 136hp diesel engine, which has been paired with a new manual transmission and clutch that promises an 18% increase in durability compared to its predecessor. The vehicles also feature extended intervals for gearbox oil changes — now over 200,000 miles — meaning less downtime for vehicle servicing.

Based on the Business trim level, the Driveaway models offer standard features such as manual air conditioning, cruise control, front fog lights, and electrically heated door mirrors.

“The Driveaway programme has proven exceptionally popular, giving businesses a product that’s ready to hit the ground running,”
explained Mike Cutts, Iveco UK light business-line director.
“These new additions will bolster an already extensive catalogue.”
