Volkswagen has revealed an updated version of the Caddy, giving its small van range a more modern cabin, extra equipment and light exterior styling changes.
The revised model has been shown in Germany ahead of the UK launch.
There’s no confirmed UK timing just yet, but the details give buyers a clear preview of what’s coming our way.
Big changes inside
The biggest update is inside, where the Caddy gets a new 12.9-inch free-standing central touchscreen, replacing the previous integrated display and giving the dashboard a more modern, car-like feel.
Volkswagen has also added configurable touch controls, designed to give quicker access to commonly used functions. Digital Cockpit Pro is now standard across the range, which means there’s a digital instrument panel for the driver.
Device charging has been improved too, with a new 25W wireless phone charging tray, two USB-C ports offering up to 60W per socket, and a further USB-C connection replaces the previous 12V dashboard socket, providing another 45W.
The climate controls below the central screen have also been improved, with much-needed illumination to the touch sliders. Other cabin changes include redesigned seat fabrics and new trim finishes, depending on specification.
Crew versions gain grab straps on the B-pillars to help passengers climb in, with jacket hooks fitted above them.
Light exterior changes
The outside of the Caddy has been given a modest update rather than a major redesign. Changes include new front apron designs, fresh alloy wheel options ranging from 16 to 18 inches, and four new metallic paint colours: Reed Green, Sunset Red, Grenadilla Black and Grey-Brown.
The range will continue to include standard and long-wheelbase Maxi versions, with petrol, diesel and eHybrid powertrains expected to remain available. Volkswagen says the eHybrid version can cover more than 385 miles overall, including up to 75 miles in electric-only driving.
Full UK specifications, pricing and availability are expected to be confirmed later in the year.
