Which trim level should I lease?

There are five different trim levels to the Transit Connect, from fleet-friendly entry-level models to surprisingly luxurious or sporting models.

Which Ford Transit Connect fuel type is right for me?

Three engine options are available, one petrol and two diesel variants, which doesn’t sound that comprehensive, but they’re spread nicely to appeal to many users.

Petrol

Ford’s 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine is only available with the Leader and Trend trim levels. It is coupled with a six-speed automatic gearbox and produces 100hp, which is enough to keep up with traffic in the city and on the motorway, but the lower torque figure means it’s best suited to lightweight work. Refinement is strong, though, so those sitting in city traffic might consider that a sacrifice worth making.

Diesel

Ford’s 1.5-litre diesel engine is available with either 75hp or 100hp, which doesn’t sound much, but the 220Nm or 240Nm of torque on offer from each engine, respectively, means it’ll be able to pull heavy loads with ease. Economy is impressive, too, with official figures reaching as high as 58.9mpg. Each is available with a six-speed manual gearbox, but the 100hp model can be specified with a smooth-shifting eight-speed auto.

Don't just take our word for it. We're rated at 4.9/5 on independent reviews website Trustpilot from over 36,103 genuine customer reviews
Ben Crompton was fantastic and made our first time leasing a car through our Business an easy one. He was always on hand, efficient and explained everything we needed to know. He also gave us a contact to help install an electric wall charger, ready for our electric car. We will certainly come back to Select Car Leasing in the future. Many thanks.

Why lease a Ford Transit Connect

The Transit Connect offers the space and versatility of a compact van but with the drivability of a car. Want a longer load pace? Fine, as there’s a long-wheelbase option for you that can take up to 3.6m3 of cargo. Do you need more than just the two seats? Not a problem — the Transit Connect has options for an extra row of seats in the double cab-in-van configuration. Have to carry heavy loads? Payload options extend to 961kg.

Loading and unloading are simple, with a kerb-side sliding door on the van variants, and rear doors that open to 180 degrees for unrestricted access. There’s an option for a load-through bulkhead which has a flap through to the cabin to create space for longer cargo, such as pipes. There is also an option for a partially glazed bulkhead, rather than just steel, improving rearward visibility and safety.

Sign up for FordPass Pro, and there’s an app to help monitor the health and security of up to five vehicles, with features such as security and vehicle health alerts, keeping the vans on the road and the cargo secure. Owner-operators will be reassured, and fleet managers will be kept informed and happy.

About Ford Transit Connect

Transit Connect is the smallest sibling of the Transit range, sitting below the Transit and Transit Custom, making it a popular choice for commercial buyers who don’t need to lug huge loads. Like the rest of the Transit range, the Connect offers excellent value for money, with a huge range of model choices, powertrain options and trim levels to choose from.

Ford has been a significant figure in the commercial vehicle world for decades and knows what customers want. Transit Connect is a great all-rounder for those who don’t need oodles of load space but want a nimble, easy-to-drive option.
