The new Mini Clubman is the newest member of Mini’s modern family which has a larger and more family friendly appearances while losing storage door layout. Available on sales in October 2015 however, we have started taking orders on our website here!

Mini Clubman

This is not Mini in size, the new Mini Clubman has grown up as a new practical family friendly car with increased storage capacity and cabin room. The new Clubman is going to make its firm public debut at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show where the world will see the latest Mini addition.

The largest Mini yet

For those who normally argue for the Mini’s size, the new Clubman is destined to be the largest Mini model ever making it even larger than the old model and promising more storage capacity and room.

At a total of 4252mm in length, the new Clubman comes in at 293mm (millimetres) longer than its predecessor. The height and width are also increased by 16mm and 115mm at 1441mm and 1800mm respectively. Despite increase in size, this new generation of Clubman is just 155 kilograms heavier than the old model in the Cooper form, weighing in at 1300kg, which shares its lightweight platform with the latest BMW 2 Series Active & Gran Tourer.

The design and styling remains the same as the rest of the Mini family where you will get the same front-end, oval shaped headlamps with both LED graphics and a heavily rounded clamshell-style bonnet off the new Mini with a clear family resemblance to its smaller hatch models.

More space inside

The new Clubman now offers more interior space; where it allows you to access the boot via its pair of barn-style doors, similar to the old model, but now offering a total space of 360 litres which is almost 100 litres more than before. A 60:40 split when folding the rear seats extends this to 1250 litres.

It gets the same control layout and an electronic handbrake similar to other models in the Mini range, including the same central infotainment screen with the touch-sensitive iDrive controller mounted within easy reach of the centre console.

Plenty of standard kit

All the Clubman models now come with 16 inch alloy wheels, satellite navigation; Bluetooth and LED lightning as standard. The Cooper S versions get 17 inch alloy wheels, twin exhausts, and sport seats in the front.

Other options include Mini’s Driving Modes function, which allow drivers to choose from economy or performance based driving modes via a ‘collar’ shifter around the base of the gearlever.

Engine family: Diesel leads for the UK

There are three engines available in the UK however the 2.0 litre diesel Cooper D is expected to be the biggest-seller; it produces 148bhp (brake horse power) and returns up to 68.9 mpg (miles per gallon) fuel efficiency with CO2 emissions of 109 grams per kilometre only.

The 2.0 litre petrol engine in the Cooper S comes with 189 brake horse power, accelerating from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 7.2 seconds with a top speed of 142 miles per hour. Plus the 1.5 litre petrol engine in Cooper version returns the fuel economy of 55.4 miles per gallon with CO2 emissions of 118 grams per kilometre.

All the Clubman’s engines come with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard but six and eight speed automatic transmissions are available as options..

I had a great first experience with leasing from Select car leasing and am so happy with my new car David talked me through the whole process and answered any questions I had..he explained everything in basic terms so I knew and understood everything We waited a few days for the credit checks to come back and I asked David if it usually took this long..he assured me it did so I think it was about 5 working days and he rang with the good news The paperwork side of things then took over and once that was all completed,it was just to wait for a date The whole process was done over the portal so you could keep up to date with any developments but if you had any questions, then David was reachable by phone We had a date for the car delivery and the driver turned up after giving me a ring, earlier in the morning to confirm a time..the car arrived and I checked it over as we had to sign to say say everything was OK with the car. All is great and am so happy with my new car I would highly recommend this company for your lease car
